We have been working with our Member organisations (The Authors' Licensing & Collecting Society, DACS, PICSEL LIMITED and Publishers' Licensing Services (PLS)) on a new UK Text and Data Mining (TDM) Licence, which makes it legal for companies to copy and use content for TDM purposes. This licence will support organisations looking to create efficiencies, speed up processes, and discover new insights by using published content for TDM purposes. Mat Pfleger, CEO said "Building on CLA’s unique role in the UK’s creative sector, we have consulted extensively with our Member organisations – PLS, ALCS, DACS and PICSEL – to create a licence that protects and values their creative works while providing an efficient and practical solution for any organisation undertaking text and data mining using published content." Climate change and climate equality critically impact the social and financial sustainability and security of visual artists. The Visual Arts Manifesto, co-authored by DACS and 22 other visual arts organisations, was discussed in the UK House of Lords today.  Nicholas Trench, the Earl of Clancarty, said: “I ask the government to look at the recommendations in the Visual Arts Manifesto, led by DACS. One recommendation is the appointment of a Freelancer Commissioner for the arts, to look at their rights and levels of pay.
