We work with our agencies and partners to support the transport network that helps UK businesses and gets people and goods travelling around the country. We plan and invest in transport infrastructure to keep the UK on the move. News alert from the REA: in collaboration with the Energy Saving Trust, Recharge UK, the #evcharging infrastructure forum of the REA, has published its report “Electrifying the fleet. A practical resource for fleet managers.” It provides fleet managers with a detailed roadmap to successfully electrify their fleets, offering step-by-step guidance, demonstrating value for money and efficiency savings, and insights into overcoming current barriers to adoption. The report has been welcomed by Lilian Greenwood MP, Future of Roads Minister at the Department for Transport: “Our roads are undergoing a technological revolution, and fleets will play a big part. A cleaner greener #transport network is a key priority for this Government, which is why we have #plug-in grants available for vans and trucks and programmes aimed at scaling up #zeroemission #HGVs, to decarbonise #road freight. Yesterday, Maritime UK’s Chair Robin Mortimer and Chief Executive, Chris Shirling-Rooke MBE were delighted to meet the newly appointed Aviation, Maritime and Security Minister, Mike Kane MP and the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom team. The meeting was a frank, constructive and collaborative discussion on the direction of the sector, which is worth £116 Billion to the UK economy and supports 1.1 million jobs.
