David Koma Resort 2025 Featuring Lourdes Leon To celebrate the release of Resort 2025 David Koma unveils new collection imagery featuring Lourdes Leon. ‘Working with the incredible Lourdes Leon as the first ever ‘face’ of the season was a truly fantastic experience. She embodies authenticity and has an unapologetic sense of self-expression, which is incredibly inspiring. She is the perfect representation of the Koma Girl – a complex character who is tough yet sensual, free yet controlled, and youthful yet mature. Watching her move as a professional dancer on set was mesmerizing; she looked sophisticated and elegant while exuding an almost animalistic grace. Lourdes truly reflected the metamorphosis that inspired the collection, transforming both her body and the look with her dynamic movements.’ – David Koma Credits Talent: Lourdes Leon Styling: Marc Goehring Photography: Hendrik Schneider Casting: Svea Greichgauer Production: ANCC Studio Make up: Patrick Glatthaar Hair: Cos Sakkas for Toni & Guy Discover the collection at davidkoma.com #DavidKomaRE25

Introducing David Koma Resort 2025 It is the delicate dance between nature and art. For Resort 2025 David Koma explores the profound metamorphosis where the boundaries between human and animal, primal and sophisticated dissolve into one harmonious entity. The collection is a celebration of the eternal cycle of change, where garments become a testament to the beauty found in the convergence of the organic and the crafted. This season draws inspirations from two remarkable women: Isabelle Albuquerque, whose striking life-size hybrid sculpture seamlessly blends the artist's human form with that of a fawn, and the legendary model Veruschka, a pioneer of transformative body paint. The latter created iconic images camouflaging her body against natural backdrops or adorning herself entirely in animal print paint. These transformations echo ancient mythologies, where deities transcend human limitations by embracing their animalistic counterparts. Diverse range of textures and prints take centre stage. Silky soft long raffia cascades down the sides of sequin skirts, evoking the flowing mane of a horse, or appears as a statement shoe detail. Short raffia, with a feather-like quality, frames the seams of dresses and is voluminously stitched onto jackets, reinterpreting the traditional feather boa or fur stole. Zebra-like pattern derived from the organic lines of wood grain, is featured on denim trenches and fiery red transparent pieces. The deer hide print is manipulated to contour the female form, appearing on swimsuits, bodycon dresses, capes, shoes, and bags. An illustration of a fawn adorns and elevates the casual grey rib and crisp white shirt. Silk transparent jersey is stretched across crinoline and suspended away from the body to create an athletic interpretation of a bustle petticoat skirt, combining structure and angular lines with a soft, delicate touch. In a tribute to the equestrian world, a leather saddle is reimagined as a wrap mini skirt and a bonded satin cape gilet. This season, the designers' signature embroidery is manifesting as organic faceted crystals scattered across transparent beige power mesh bikini pants or black silky cowhide sleeveless jackets, reminiscent of the natural spots of a deer. Irregular crystal buckles suspend draped tailoring wool and liquid jersey diagonally across the wearer's body. Silver metallic chains form long skirts, armour-like tops, and drape from satin scarves and necklines, creating a waterfall effect. Across shoulders and hips, crystallised claw details cinch ruched fluid jersey to create ornate yet fiercely animalistic designs. Introducing David Koma Menswear | Spring-Summer 2025 ‘Venturing into menswear feels like a natural step, completing my dream of ‘Club Koma’. This process has fostered a profound sense of personal connection and introspection, as I see myself as the ultimate customer for the first time. The launch of this collection is particularly special as it allows me to design with my male friends in mind, broadening the inclusivity and reach of my creative vision. I am thrilled about this new chapter and invite new voices and perspectives to join our brand’s realm.’ – David Koma, Founder and Creative Director. Following a recent womenswear collection inspired by prominent figures in the dance world like Pina Bausch and Candela Capitan, transitioning to explore the dance realm through the menswear lens felt like a natural progression. Jiří Kylián’s contemporary ballet, ’Sarabande’, served as a starting point. This powerful piece, featuring traditional ballet and contemporary dance influences, delves into the intricate interplay of male aggression and vulnerability. The exploration of the concept of ‘formation’ within the performance resonated deeply with the designer as he embarked upon his first foray into menswear. To represent the multifaceted nature of masculinity, echoing the diverse characters that form David’s personal social circle, the collection uses juxtapositions as pivotal elements, offering both common place and distinctive qualities. The Koma Man embodies strength, aloofness, and independence, yet exudes a soft, sensual aura. The collection sets out to strike a balance between ease and sophistication, blending playful characteristics with refined elegance. To temper the overtly masculine utilitarian references, subtle nods to whimsy and sensuality are introduced. The collection seeks to elevate quintessential wardrobe materials. Office-like poplins are embellished and manifest in the form of military shirting and boxer shorts. The denim range is presented in dusty indigo palette or reimagined in raw boucle. Leather appears in tailored and casual forms, offered in soft napa or with heavy distressing, as if ‘cracked’. The intricate embellishments and opulent feather plumes are balanced and grounded by casual jersey elements, which exude a lived-in quality, as if borrowed directly from a dancers’ personal wardrobes. The pieces invite tactile engagement and introspection, presenting the designer’s honest perspective on modern masculinity through a nuanced blend of strength, softness, and grit. The glamour, opulence and intrigues of the high society have long been captivating for the distant observer. But rarely a story captured the imagination as much as the 1970’s New York iconic scandal of Truman Capote’s glittering circle of female jet set friends he affectionately called ‘The Swans’. Immortalised in contemporaneous and modern literature as well as the upcoming series by Ryan Murphy, the extravagant women and the luxurious mise-en-scène of Truman’s rise and fall from grace became the inspiration for David Koma Pre-Fall 2024 collection.
