This weekend, we’re sending the best of luck to our colleague Conor Turbitt, as he takes to Croke Park with the rest of the Armagh team in the GAA All-Ireland Football Final against Galway. An incredible achievement, and highly anticipated final – and with Conor’s involvement, he’s managed to turn his Down, Tyrone and wider Ulster county supporter colleagues orange and white for one Sunday only! 🟠⚪ We’re all cheering you on! 👏 📸 Inpho Sports Photography Ltd

We're so proud to have made the Stonewall Top 100 Employers list and to have achieved a Gold Award. At 40th place we're the highest ranking company headquartered in Northern Ireland on the list. Some of our key highlights have been innovating our HR policies and guiding principles, creating an internal podcast to help address gaps in knowledge and understanding about LGBTQ challenges, and ongoing collaboration with local organisations, like Cara -Friend Speaking about the achievement, our HR Director Caroline van der Feltz FCIPD said: “Diversity and inclusion is an intrinsic part of our culture at Danske Bank, we’re committed to ensuring our colleagues feel that they are included, that they belong. Collaboration and activity across our employee-led networks is a vital part of that strategy, and our Rainbow Network, alongside our EDI partner, has been a driving force for LGBTQ inclusion, education and positive change for our colleagues, their families and wider society. This is a recognition to be proud of, and to continue to build our progress upon.” Pictured is Kevin Heavern, Co-Chair of our Rainbow Network, Caroline van der Feltz FCIPD, Angela Guiney, Co-Chair of our Rainbow Network and Liz Skelcher, Stonewall Northern Ireland Workplace Programmes Manager. We’ve published our financial results for the first six months of 2024, reporting a profit before tax of £102.9 million. Our CEO Vicky Davies said: “A robust financial performance means we are well positioned to continue to support customers when they need us. We are staying close to our customers, providing support for those who need it, whilst continuing to help businesses pursue growth opportunities and people buy or move home. “In the first half of the year we supported the Northern Ireland business community with over £370 million in business lending approvals. Notable business deals during this period included growth funding support for local enterprises Andras House, Finnebrogue, Used Cars NI, Exorna kitchens, the Deluxe Group and Connswater homes. “The number of new small business accounts opened was up around 70% year-on-year, with us currently offering two years fee-free banking to small businesses if they switch to Danske Bank and open a small business digital account. In addition to our easy-to-use digital banking platforms, small business customers are supported through a strong local presence on the ground in Northern Ireland through our branches, contact centres and business advisor teams. Small businesses can apply to become a customer digitally through our website. “In the first six months of the year we also provided around £360 million in mortgage lending approvals across Northern Ireland, up over 30% year-on-year. “When it comes to everyday banking, I am pleased to share that we have opened over 9,000 new personal current accounts in the first six months of 2024, an increase of more than 80% year-on-year. You can apply for a Danske personal current account online in less than ten minutes. “Looking forward to the rest of the year, we will keep focused on helping customers, colleagues and society thrive - while continuing to play an integral role in supporting the local economy.” You can read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/e6fATPxK

Hayley Rice, Robotics Developer at Danske Bank UK, is the recent winner of ‘One to Watch in the Future’ at this year’s vibrant Women in Tech awards, held at the landmark Europa Hotel, Belfast. “The Women in Tech awards by Women in Business NI are such a great platform for recognition of women in this industry where women are still underrepresented." Speaking on the meaning behind the awards, which aims to celebrate women in Northern Ireland’s burgeoning tech sector, inspirational Hayley explains: “It is so important to work with fantastic female role models who inspire me every day. "Without that, I wouldn't be where I am today in my career. For example, in my first job straight after university, I was the only female in the office at one time. So coming to Danske Bank and having so many amazing female role models to surround myself with has really propelled me and given me the confidence to keep pushing on." Specifically, Hayley praises her close-knit team: “My manager Laurie has been a huge source of inspiration for me, she is such a supportive manager and to have another female supporting you is fantastic. Our Solutions Architect, Jacqueline Swann, is also amazing and has provided so much support for me.” Hayley also points to Vicky Davies as an inspiring female leader. Vicky joined the Board of Danske Bank UK in 2016 and was appointed Deputy CEO in 2019. In September 2021 she became the first female chief executive in the bank’s 200-year history and one of the few women to hold such a senior role across Northern Ireland’s banking sector. “Our CEO, Vicky Davies is a massive source of inspiration. She’s also a mum to four boys and she's just absolutely smashing it. She is a very inspirational woman.” Read our full wide-ranging interview with Hayley Rice here 👇 https://lnkd.in/e5UhwFzz
