We rebranded leading Scottish confectioner Mrs Tilly's around a friendly reminder that life is sweet. Moments of joy and indulgence in every mouthful from Scotland’s first family of flavour. Looking to consolidate on their success as the UK's number one fudge brand, no one knows sweets better than Scotland and no one knows Scottish sweets better than Mrs Tilly’s. The visual identity and messaging platform was given a full makeover from top to bottom, ensuring that every last detail says Scottish for sweet. We repackaged the core products in convenience, everyday, and gifting ranges, covering all current flavours and inclusions. Great work by our team at D8 and Ronnie Wilson Blair Paterson and everyone else at Mrs Tilly’s who was involved in the project.

We’re working with global technology leader ABB to demonstrate their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their operations. Rolled out internally and externally, the multi-year campaign is intended to evolve and grow, demonstrating the ‘Real Progress’ being made in some of the world’s most hard-to-abate industries. Great work from everyone involved at D8 and the team at ABB.

Our brand identity for Canal Motorsports was driven by the Doppler effect - the change in frequency of sound waves as a race car moves towards and past the spectators. We tailored a bespoke 'driven by Doppler' variable brand font for Canal . 'Canal Doppler' is a fusion of various different fonts in one easy-to-use file that shifts smoothly through the gears between styles. From focused and calm to raceday-ready to the chaos of a corner attack - all in one font. Perfect for motion graphics and animation across broadcast and digital media.

RadiOlympia on NPO Radio 1 took over the Netherlands airwaves during the Olympic Games this summer, featuring regular updates and live coverage from Paris. We designed a new identity for the show, with a TV launch campaign featuring three spots connecting everyday life with Olympic events - always with a playful twist. The campaign also took RadiOlympia on the road for the first time, touring the Netherlands in a freshly branded van. Record listening figures too!

Back in 1999 when we started D8 the closest we got to working in media was doing flyers for Global Video (remember them?) so to see our ID and Olympic ads for NPO’s RadiOlympia on TV in the Netherlands feels like a bit of a milestone, brilliant work Rosie Street , our team at D8 Amsterdam, our partners at NPO and everyone else involved. There are many reasons for a brand to own its own typeface, it expresses your brand’s unique identity, consistently connecting with your audience. As well as creating a typeface from scratch, there are other ways to do this, when we refreshed ScotRail’s brand identity we worked with Dalton Maag to create ScotRail Aller, a uniquely customised version of an existing typeface. But the value of an ownable typeface goes beyond establishing brand loyalty. When you buy a bespoke typeface, it’s yours and yours alone. You have complete ownership to use and distribute it as you wish, there are no complex licensing agreements to be navigated and no knock-on hidden costs. D8 have also created completely bespoke typefaces for a number of brands including Canal , Walker’s Shortbread, and Benromach, if this is something you’re interested in discussing, please DM me or contact [email protected] we’d be delighted to speak with you.

This ongoing project with WL Gore is a great example of sustainable progress through strength of partnership.

For over a decade we’ve been helping Gore re-engineer their Global Sales Tools to increase their usefulness for customers, whilst reducing the pressure on the natural and human resources required to create them. This latest edition for Gore-Tex uses less raw material to produce, environmentally conscious finishes, and is significantly lighter to ship. Great work by our team D8
