This change follows IBF processing and traffic management improvements that have rendered pre-booking unnecessary. Reason for Change: Enhanced IBF operations and traffic management mean pre-notification is no longer required. . 🐄 The UK Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Act 2024: Key Changes and New Requirements 🐖 APPLY FROM TODAY! The Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Act 2024 introduces a significant update to livestock export regulations, effective from TODAY. This new legislation prohibits the export of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and equines for slaughter, including for fattening with the intent of subsequent slaughter, from or transiting through Great Britain to EU member states and other third countries. Key Points: ·        📅 Prohibition Date: The export prohibition begins on July 22, 2024. ·        🆕 New Document Codes: 9Y01: For livestock exports from Northern Ireland to Great Britain or directly to a third country. Note: This code cannot be used for goods transiting through Great Britain to destinations outside the UK. 9Y02: For exemptions where the prohibition does not cover the livestock or is being exported for purposes apart from slaughter or fattening for slaughter. ·        📝 Declaration Requirements: Pre-lodged declarations for affected livestock arriving on or after July 22, 2024, without codes 9Y01 or 9Y02 will be rejected. Please make sure declarations are updated with the appropriate code before arrival. Document codes 9Y01 and 9Y02 are available right away; you don't need to wait until the prohibition date to use them. ·        📦 Existing Declarations: Livestock already granted release on export declarations must be exported before the prohibition takes effect. The declaration must be invalidated if exported by the deadline, and the livestock should not be exported. Please take a look at the Tariff Stop Press Notice available on the UK Integrated Online Tariff at GOV.UK for further details.
