CTPA Director-General Emma Meredith, Director of Science Caroline Rainsford and Scientific Affairs Manager Francesca Rapolla are in Washington DC attending ICCS (International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety) meetings. Emma Meredith says: “CTPA very much values its membership of ICCS and is extremely pleased to be attending the Inaugural ICCS Meeting in Washington DC, the ICCS Board meeting and a workshop to build confidence in New Approach Methods (NAMs) for regulatory use. The Inaugural meeting on Thursday 03 October, with over 100 delegates and a stellar line-up of speakers, had an in-depth and really stimulating programme.” Caroline Rainsford took place in a panel discussion that shone a ‘Spotlight on EU & UK Roadmap Efforts to Replace Animals in Testing’. Joining representatives from the European Commission, Cosmetics Europe - The Personal Care Association, EFfCI - The European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients and EPAA European Partnership for Alternative Approaches and moderated by PETA, Caroline highlighted the importance of a roadmap on non-animal methods in the UK and globally. Caroline also explained the important role Trade Associations have in coordinating the great work being undertaken and also in building confidence in the use of non-animal science and NGRA (New Generation Risk Assessment). The opportunities we have in the UK with the review of UK REACH and the appetite of regulators to move away from animal science are very exciting. To kick off the afternoon, Francesca Rapolla, CTPA’s Scientific Affairs Manager, moderated a session which provided an introduction to the AFSA (Animal-Free Safety Assessment ) Masterclass which was presented by Dr Catherine Willett from the Humane Society International. It was a great day! Many thanks Erin Hill and all the Team at ICCS for a truly inspirational meeting. #ICCS #ICCS2024 #environmentalsafety #NAMs #Cosmetics #NGRAs #AnimalFreeSafetyAssessments #ScientificPanels

CTPA - Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association reposted this
Arrivederci Milano…I had an incredible stay in this beautiful city! Every year, our communications steering committee at Cosmetics Europe - The Personal Care Association gets together for a best practice workshop. This is the opportunity for us to share case studies of campaigns we have developed throughout the year in our national trade associations or companies, or strategies we have implemented to address a particular topic. This year our colleagues from Cosmetica Italia - associazione nazionale imprese cosmetiche kindly hosted us and we were fortunate enough to have this coinciding with the Milano Beauty Week. The city was buzzing with conferences, consumer experiences and events around cosmetics, fragrance and personal care trends and craftsmanship, ending up with a closing celebratory concert at La Scala ! Very impressive Benedetta Boni !👏👏👏 For our workshop, I had the pleasure to share the campaign we ran this year at CTPA - Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association around our association’s Manifesto for the UK General Election. We also have been learning from my colleagues at IKW The German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association Stanpa - Asociación Nacional de Perfumería y Cosmética, FEBEA, Kosmetik- og hygiejnebranchen and Procter & Gamble Thank you to all for our great discussions and thank you to my Cosmetics Europe comms colleagues Malgorzata Miazek Gabriela Lopez Lopez for organising this highly valuable gathering! 🚀🙌 Marie Audren Audrey Plaud Peauger Marjolein Van Oostrum Janine Arnold Frederick Warzee István Murányi Birgit Huber Clara Pi Nuria Cuenca Octavio Andres Franco Aleksandra Lau-Wyzińska Christian Ditlev Lund Agnieszka Sobkowiak Ana Catarina Gomes Jasmin Jaghuri Paula Gómez de Tejada Espinosa Julia Rasotto #cosmeticsindustry #bestpractices #communications #MilanBeautyWeek

CTPA - Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association reposted this
I am proud that CTPA - Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association is a full member of Cosmetics Europe - The Personal Care Association. It is so important that there is an active and effective network of Associations across Europe. This was once again well demonstrated at the meeting of the Active Association Members taking place this week in Romania. It was a joy to be with dear colleagues again and to discuss not only the pressing issues facing us all but also to share our best practices in providing information to our members. So much common ground, but also lots to learn from all the great work being undertaken in all the Associations! A huge THANK YOU to Mihaela Rabu and Suciu Andrea Maria at RUCODEM - Uniunea Română a Producătorilor de Cosmetice și Detergenți for an excellent meeting and for your incredible hospitality. It was such a pleasure to be in Bucharest. #cosmeticsindustry #tradeassociation #cosmeticsregulation
