We provide a range of information and support services, raises awareness of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis through our media work, celebrity ambassadors and champions, and by working in close partnership with healthcare professionals, MP’s and decision makers in order to drive up standards of healthcare across the UK. We are also committed to finding a cure for Inflammatory Bowel Disease and since 1984 have been funding a wide range of research projects. Our aim is not only to search for causes, cure and better treatments, but also to explore the social and psychological impact of these illnesses on patients and their families. Crohn’s and Colitis UK brings together people of all ages who have been diagnosed with IBD, their families and the health professionals involved in their care. Only 50% of newly diagnosed patients said they had been given enough information to understand treatment options available and make an informed choice.  So, together with healthcare professionals and people living with Crohn’s or Colitis, we have created our new Medicine Tool. “This would have been a great tool to have been able to access when I was first diagnosed…There was lots of mention of different types of medicines that I could try but it was all so confusing. The comparison tool would definitely have helped me make better decisions for me and my health”. Rebecca, living with Ulcerative Colitis Try it today via the link below! https://lnkd.in/ewucxSfJ #crohns #colitis #ibd

Robyn was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at just 18 years old. She had no idea how severe the illness was but she soon found out. Her symptoms started suddenly one day during her college class while she was studying for an NC Social Care Course. The pain made it impossible for her to sit comfortably, leading her to question what was happening. Since then, Robyn has undergone multiple surgeries and tried countless treatments to find the best one for her. Living with Crohn's is a rollercoaster, with both good and bad days. The bad days are particularly challenging mentally, causing her to worry about her future as an actress and model. Managing the unpredictability of her symptoms is especially hard when her job demands 12-hour days on film and photography sets. Read more in our blog with Robyn, where she spoke about her experience: https://lnkd.in/embNBbUw Image description: There are three images with the post. Two show Robyn in hospital and one shows Robyn on a modelling shoot, posing with her stoma bag visible.

Sometimes, all we need is some patience and understanding 💜 Image description: The title, in a white font with a pink border, reads "Things to say to someone with Crohn's or Colitis." Underneath in purple text in a white speech bubble, it says (in bullet points) " - We can go somewhere else if that’s easier - It’s ok if you need to rest- You don’t have to pretend to be ok." The image has speech bubble graphics as well as the CCUK logo. #Crohns #Colitis #InflammatoryBowelDisease #IBD
