Burger King is on the rebound in the UK, so it feels like a good morning to celebrate its country CMO Katie Evans. 🍔 The burger brand has also released a new campaign 'Bundles Of Joy' via BBH London sharing various pieces of video footage highlighting the satisfaction of mums after eating their first meal after giving birth. 👶 "At Burger King UK, we know a thing or two about the blissful state of ultimate food satisfaction. But as it turns out, so do mums. So after the success of our ‘Foodfillment’ strategy, we’re delighted to be bringing it to an audience which truly deserves it," explains Evans of the work. Think advertising to Gen Z needs an entirely different approach? Think again. 🤔 Our Planning Director, Devin Ross, recently told Creative Salon Worldwide that Generation Z isn't as different from previous generations as we may think - we may not need to ‘reinvent the wheel’ when it comes to tailoring marketing strategies to a new generation. Devin highlighted the importance of understanding "the gap between claimed behaviour and actual behaviour - especially with a generation that carefully curates their online presence while living vastly different experiences offline.” In the comment, Devin mentions that despite the narrative that Gen Z is 'generation sensible', behavioural research conducted by VCCP revealed a different story in that Gen Z isn't that different to generations of young people before them. They also have a strong drive for rebellion. “Rebellion is not something that is tied to a generation but something that is a timeless coming of age. Rebellion serves as a mechanism for young people to assert their independence and challenge societal norms, facilitating their transition from dependence to autonomy. It's not purely 'rule-breaking behaviour'. 🏅 Looking back over the Summer, one of our favourite projects has got to be Samsung’s Openness Medal - a campaign designed to celebrate athletes and fans who have the courage to overcome challenges. Launched to coincide with the Olympics, we handled the fabrication of the clear medal which was designed to contrast with the standard Gold, Silver and Bronze placements and encourage openness to talk about failures - GB skateboard sensation Sky Brown wears hers in the film below, produced by BBH London’s Black Sheep Studio.
