Following the election, the King’s Speech sets out the opening of Parliament, stating the government’s priorities for the coming parliamentary session. Labour have put forward a whopping 40 bills, and we want to look at which of these impact the work we do. Including this are bills that could directly, and indirectly, impact the creative industry. Young people are the most sought-after hires in the UK. New data from ManpowerGroup shows that 45% of UK employers are actively seeking to engage workers under 25 years old. Attracting and retaining this talent is a challenge though, and it's important that companies align with the values of the next generation of workers. Read more about it below ⬇️

In an interview with the Radio Times, Danny Dyer has said the lack of working-class people in the arts is "digusting" - sharing stories of the classism he experienced when entering the industy. He hopes the new government will look to address this issue, and give more young people from working class backgrounds something to aim for.
