Huge honour to be on your list of personal favourites for London Climate Action Week Cathy. 💚 Thank you for spending your Friday evening with us!
🌍 Bridging the gender gap in climate tech investing is not only essential for fostering #inclusive #innovation but is also good for business ↔ evidence consistently shows that gender-diverse ventures perform better (10-20% higher returns). 📢 We need more women in #climatetech to bring #creative #solutions to the pressing climate challenges we face today. For example, S4S Technologies is empowering smallholder female farmers with solar-powered food preservation and processing equipment to combat food waste and rural poverty. Mehrnaz Ghojeh is driving Okhtapus to globally scale, finance and replicate solutions for land and oceans ecosystems. Brilliant pitches hosted by Giovanna Melfi and panel hosted by Christine Amour-Levar with Steve Melhuish Carmel Rafaeli Alina Truhina and Anuradha on navigating fundraising and barriers/ biases in the ecosystem. Thanks to Investors for Climate Christine Amour-Levar Vicki Yeo Concave for putting on what was one of my personal favourites of #LCAW!

If this statistic is the benchmark, the % of female-led climate startups funded must be even more dismal 🤯. - "Women-founded startups accounted for 2% or less of venture capital (VC) funding invested in Europe and the United States in 2023" - PitchBook - This June 28th, Concave presents "Bridging the Gender Gap in Climate Tech Investing", co-hosted by Christine Amour-Levar, Investors for Climate. 📍5 - 8pm, The Conduit, London 🎟️ https://lu.ma/lmiejc9d #LondonClimateActionWeek #LCAW2024 #LCAW24

Founder & CEO of Gen Z VCs | Forbes 30 Under 30, 2023 & 2022 LinkedIn Top Voice | Gen Z Speaker & Creator (200K) | Oxford
2023 was arguably the best year of my life (!!), but things got away from me and I forgot to do a recap! Better late than never... here were my highlights & 6 learnings from my biggest year of growth yet ✨ 1. I became an author! Don't wait until you have the "right qualifications" -- if you have an idea, move fast & make it happen. 📚 Published my first book, a children's book called "Show Me What AI Can Do!" written and illustrated by ChatGPT/Dall-E 2 to teach young kids about the power of AI. Featured in Business Insider & went viral! https://lnkd.in/eFZYwdKv 2. Worked with incredible brands as a consultant & creator. Don't let people silo you into one area of expertise, challenge yourself to expand your "niche" and follow your interests. 🎬 Film: Sony Pictures Entertainment, Netflix 🛍️ Retail: CHANEL, Tanger, Dove 🏅 Sports: UEFA, Manchester United 🚀 Tech: Notion, Grammarly 🤳 Cities: London & Partners, World Business Chicago 3. Public speaking is one of the best top of funnels for paid opportunities. Plus it's a great way to travel! 🎙️ Spoke in NYC, Miami, Napa Valley, Switzerland, Germany, and Finland...again across a variety of sectors! For executives (Operators Guild, Concave), students (DCN Global 's Berlin Youth Summit, Princeton University, Columbia University), founders/VCs (Slush, PEI, Miami Hack Week), creators (LinkedIn), and even government orgs (Council of Europe). 4. Hosting events is the best way to jumpstart your network/career, esp. if moving to a new city, country, or continent (like me!). Be a community curator. 🧳 Gen Z VCs hosted events in 12 cities last year: NYC, LA, SF, Chicago, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Barcelona, and Milan! Programming ranged from a Tea Party for emerging managers in VC, a Cookie Exchange for founders/VCs, to panels and socials for all the Tech Weeks. 5. Transitioned from being featured in the press to actually writing in the press! You have to raise your hand for opportunities, they won't come to you. 📰 Was featured in Business Insider, on Bloomberg TV for a segment, a podcast with the Financial Times, The Washington Post, Retail Brew, Sifted, dot.LA etc... but also wrote op-eds in Sifted and The Economist! More to come on this front soon 👀 6. Set aside time for personal goals, not just professional ones. Even if they only make sense to you! 🤳 I moved across the pond to the UK to begin a Masters in Business at the University of Oxford & made a goal to get better at video content/editing. I gained 100K followers on IG/TikTok in 3 months and reached 50M people. INSANE! -- 2023 was a year of self-discovery & expansion. 2024 will be a year of doubling down on the things that bring me the most fulfillment professionally... and see where that takes me 😉 #2023year #2024goals #2024outlook #yearinreview #learnings #careergrowth #highlights #reflection #careerdevelopment #careeradvice #genz
