This summer, we’re working with Comic Relief to donate over £2.5m to help children and families access nutritious food by providing over 1 million meals during the school holidays. Throughout July, we’re rallying our customers to get involved too. Until 23 July, we will donate 25p to Comic Relief for every purchase of selected fruit and veg, and until 30 July, our supplier Mars Food will donate £100k to Comic Relief from the proceeds of all Dolmio product sales in Sainsbury’s.   We are also funding organisations such as Feeding Britain, The Bread and Butter Thing, and The London Community Foundation, which will provide healthy meals and free enriching activities for children over the summer break. #ComicRelief #donations #sainsburys

This week we were joined by Dylan Holloway, Michael Gunning and Sarah Baptiste for our Pride Panel at the Comic Relief offices. 🙌 All three panellists shared amazing stories and insight, and opened up the floor to a positive and engaged Q A session. Dylan, also known as Dylan And The Moon is an award-winning singer-songwriter who advocates for the importance of living life authentically. Drawing from his personal experience as a transgender man, Dylan illuminates the profound impact that embracing your true self can have. Michael is an international swimmer who represented Team GB and Team Jamaica - setting national records for both! He was awarded Sportsman of the Year in 2018 for Jamaica, is an inclusivity champion for LGBTQ rights and works to support children in the UK who haven't yet learnt to swim. Sarah has been working with the House of Rainbow since 2020, supporting them to reach a local, national and international community - to help people reconcile their faith and sexuality. Sarah has struggled with her own journey of reconciling her sexuality with her faith, but has found strength through her love of poetry, and her work supporting others with a similar lived experience. Listening and learning from a diverse panel who were able to share perspectives from multiple walks of life is important to Comic Relief - putting intersectionality at the core of this allows us to build a culture of belonging. Comic Relief is proud to continue learning and celebrating Pride, and foster an inclusive workplace for our LGBTQ employees. A huge thank you to our RISE Network for organising this event!

Today is International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia, Biphobia & Intersexphobia. Heard, a brilliant organisation that Comic Relief helps to fund has shared some great examples of authentic representation of LGBTQI folk in film, TV, games and news. More authentic representation improves public attitudes and acceptance. Check it out 👇

We all deserve to feel safe in our day-to-day lives. Today is International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia, Biphobia & Intersexphobia. It's a time to understand how we can all ensure LGBTQI people feel safe - inside and outside of work. 📺 At Heard, we know that more authentic representation of LGBTQI folk in film, TV, games, news and other media improves public attitudes and acceptance. Here's where to look for some best-in-class examples, recommended by our queer colleagues: 🦄 We love the Unicorn Scale, created by Talia Squires, which rates portrayals of bi characters in popular culture. To be awarded the full x4 🦄, you need to have "portrayed one or more well rounded bi characters who accurately reflect the diverse ways that people can be bi". See how different books, films and shows compare: https://lnkd.in/eFXeG44B 🎮 For queer representation in #gaming, check out the #GaymingAwards2024 (Gray Jones Media): https://lnkd.in/gHJr9mz 🧛🏻♂️ Baldur's Gate 3 from Larian Studios is once again up for more awards after winning some BAFTAs. We wrote about how a particular silver-haired vampire is changing attitudes in this post a few months ago: https://lnkd.in/evx3rzzr 🏳️⚧️ "We’re currently living through one of the most hostile periods for trans people in the 21st century. But on screen, across all genres, all roles, and all networks, transgender stars are beginning to flourish". We love this round-up of 10 game-changing moments for trans TV and film, from Laverne Cox to Heartstopper, from Marcus Wratten PinkNews https://lnkd.in/eqjN9aRT 📨 If you'd like further watching & reading recos to better understand trans lives, check out our newsletter from March online here: https://lnkd.in/dvMTSgWT #IDAHOBIT #diversityequityinclusion #DEI #diversity #lgbtq 🌈 We'd love to hear recos from the wider LinkedIn community who are out there championing LGBTQI rights & representation today.
