#Cobb technical services are dedicated to enabling you to achieve optimal results from your flock. They offer insightful advice on #Uniformity, a key factor in harnessing the full reproductive genetic potential of your flock. The uniformity of a flock influences its egg production capacity, with uniform flocks reaching peak egg production sooner, achieving higher peaks, and maintaining it for extended periods compared to non-uniform flocks Tip 1: Focus on measuring uniformity and body weight.

#Cobb’s pedigree breeding program is continuously improving commercial parent and broiler stock. #Broilers and #breeders are more feed efficient which means less nutrients are required to achieve the same body weight. Feed intake is controlled for breeders so it is more challenging to achieve and maintain a high uniformity. However, uniformity is one of the key factors to maximise their reproductive genetic potential. Uniform flocks reach peak egg production earlier, peak higher and persist longer than non-uniform flocks. High variation in sexual maturity, associated with underweight and heavy females, will delay the onset of production or females may come into production but persistence is drastically shortened.

Read Now! https://loom.ly/L3k46u8 Broiler Specialist Brendan Graaf explains the need for broiler producers to constantly seek new methods to enhance their performance. This is crucial in the face of escalating commodity prices that are causing a decrease in profit margins. He emphasizes the significance of feed cost which can comprise as much as 70% of the total production expenses. Consequently, feed efficiency emerges as a key, if not the most critical, component in broiler production.

Read Now! https://loom.ly/Ng2Qsqc Breeder Specialist Paul Welten examines how FCR improvements affect broiler breeders. A direct correlation exists between FCR enhancements and reduced feed costs, resulting in improved profitability in the industry. Paul's discussion focuses on feed intake during rear and production stages and its effects on cost, nutrition and feed presentation. He also delves into the feeding programs during rearing, bird density, and the performance factors that determine energy needs during production.
