She was nominated by her colleague for her dedication and commitment to looking after the physical health of severely mentally ill patients in the community. Our CNWL colleagues celebrated one year since the launch of Medical Recruitment and Retention Board project led by our Deputy Chief Medical Officer Simon Edwards. This project is focusing on attracting, including and retaining medical team colleagues. It's been a very busy year which has resulted in some great achievements including initiating a CESR programme, enhancing mentoring and support for new consultants, more listening and supporting trainees, improved HR processes, developing a SAS advocate role, appointing a Physician associate lead and more. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼: • Helping facilitate ward activities, social groups, and discharge sessions to create a supportive and inclusive environment. • Supporting service users on their journey toward living independently and managing their mental health daily. My name is Julia and I’m thrilled to be joining St Charles Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre as a service user support volunteer. I can’t wait to meet my fellow volunteers and learn from the incredible staff here. My journey to this role started with a deep passion for psychology, which led me to pursue an MSc conversion course at Birkbeck, University of London. I’m eager to contribute to the mental health and emotional wellbeing of those we serve. Outside of volunteering, you’ll find me doing yoga, taking long walks in nature with my dog, and enjoying quality time with friends and family.
