Are you recruiting? #gaming and #esports contacts .... I was supposed to write this a few weeks ago and it slipped my mind. I want to personally recommend Ebony Hayhurst who worked with me for a few months on a freelance basis when I was stacked. Ebony is legit! Fast learner, super enthusiastic and would be an asset to any esports team looking to work with someone on a part time basis. If I get very busy again (hopefully in the not too distant future) I won't even look elsewhere. Ebony will be my first choice. If anyone has a role within community management, data, sales, account management or pretty much anything comms related .... You will not be disappointed. Sorry this has taken so long for this post Ebony .... trying to get a little more work which you can assist with. Don't delay, hire her today 😀

Calling all brand contacts in the USA ... Do you advertise your products or services to the Europe and Indonesia as secondary markets? maybe you are launching here soon? If so, I have a sweet partnership opportunity for you with ClutchGG clients Into The Breach Esports Halo Roster. The team is made of players from the UK, Finland, Netherlands and France with an X, Twitch and YouTube reach of more than 60,000. The team are comfortable streaming and making content alonsgide brands. They are ranked #1 team in Europe, have won numerous European tournaments. The team are nailed on to reach the global majors which take place in July and September and will be hosted by FaZe Clan and Spacestation Gaming likely to be held in the USA. Here are some demographic and general stats around the game they play and the events they participate in and why this is a great fit for a brand that looks to activate in these regions: 🔸 70% of Halo players/esports fans based in the USA 🔹 30% located in Europe and Indonesia 🔸 87% English speaking audience 🔹 Approximatley 80% of the audience are aged between 18-34 🔸 74% are male with Halo fans having high propensity to purchase products from the #videogames #consumerelectronics #sport #music #food #drink #travel #health #fitness and #apparel brand categories 🔹 Other teams participating include the guys mentioned above and: Quadrant owned by F1 driver Lando Norris, Cloud 9, Complexity, Sentinals and Optic 🔸 Halo Infinite is free to play and has shipped more than 40m copies globally 🔹 The game is rated 13 and has less gore than other FPS games, this makes it brand safe 🔸 Halo Esports majors average around 45k average veiwers and peak around 100k. Microsoft are the game publisher which was developed by 343 Industries The Halo roster is of course backed by Into The Breach Esports in terms of social media and activation support. This adds significant reach and partnership activation experience having worked with brands such as Samsung SSD, Thrustmaster (Guillemot Corporation), Logitech, Untold Gaming and CloudKid This partnership will give brands who are looking to explore the esports and gaming space fantastic value. Brands who have activated at Halo events include: Red Bull Monster Energy Razer Inc. Logitech SCUF Gaming Alienware HyperX Turtle Beach Elgato AMD Intel Corporation BenQ Corporation and G FUEL (lots of endemic brands). There is a relatively untapped audience for lots of brand categories that I have mentioned previously on this post. Hit me up if this sounds interesting and lets chat :-)

I can only sometimes laugh instead of cry when I see people shrug off #esports partnerships, I think this is my way to stay sane!! The numbers do not lie .... You may not understand the game that can give you the best ROI, you may not understand the platforms that matches are shown on. You may not even care for the results. The truth is, you don't really need to fully understand esports to make a successful partnership or be a fan, you just need to understand marketing. Here are some numbers for events in 2022: Top 5 peak viewership during esports events: #1 Mobile Legends - 2.8m #2 League of Legends - 2.2m #3 CSGO - 2.1m #4 Dota 2 - 1.8m #5 Valorant - 1.5m Top 5 esports team total prize money earned: #1 - $42m #2 - $37m #3 - $26m #4 - $21m #5 - $19.5m There are fans on every continent, lots of which are easy to geo target and define your audience. There are thousands of teams outside of the Forbes richest esports teams list. Many of which do not have sponsors or need more. Esports teams (or at least the ones I know) will value your partnership, they need it. There is value to be had. Don't undervalue what esports can do for your brand. We have case studies, as do many others that can show you exactly how and why. They are based on the same principles that every piece of marketing that you sign off on. I would challenge any brand that has a target consumer aged 18-35 to show me why esports partnerships cannot work for their business. It does not matter what your budget is, start the journey small and build from it. #esports #partnerships #marketing #brand #events

Something I see time and time and again in #esports partnerships ….. Drop a 👏🏻 on this post if you agree. Brands clambering over themselves to partner with the same teams. I see teams in the U.K. that have 1-2 major brand partners and 5-6x more engagement via their socials (which is a measure of how many organic fans they actually have) vs teams that have 8-9 brand partners. If you want a true reflection of a team’s popularity. Check engagement rates on socials. The image attached is a team with 2 brand partners vs a team with 9 team partners (some of which are global brands). This is a giveaway for free tickets in one of the most watched esports globally and the major is in the country both teams are based in. If the team had a fanbase that was engaged in this title. Why are the interactions so low? Same game/same country/same content. For anyone saying “the players also form part of these partnerships” I don’t see them interacting” Brands are way too quick to jump on the bandwagon and make the easy choice when it comes to partnering with esports teams. Do some diligence and look for value propositions, not just those with CEO’s/Baord members you are familiar with and you will have much more success. Forbes doesn’t decide who’s going to deliver you ROI, the fans do. When brands leave the space they are generally lost for ever. That’s on them choosing the wrong partners as much as the team. I know multiple teams/orgs crying out for sponsors globally that can offer fantastic value in the market. They aren’t represented exclusively by agencies that are pumping up fees and putting square pegs in round holes. #esports #gaming #partnerships #sponsors #marketing #stopwastingyourmoney

🎮 ⚽️ helping brands reach Gaming, Esports & Traditional Sports fans

Good morning #sports and #esports fans … Do you need to be a winner to win? This is a question I ask myself as England get ready to embark on another major tournament (which I’m promising not to get too emotionally involved in AGAIN) 🤣 The memories of heartbreak with England for me goes right back to Italia 90. Nessun Dorma and that image of Lineker looking over to the bench as Gazza breaks down are still raw. But back to the question, do you need to be a winner to win. The two men in the photo have NEVER won a piece of silverware between them. No disrespect to either as Harry Kane is a phenomenal striker and I love the togetherness that Southgate bring to the England camp. I’m fans of both as people. BUT … do they have that killer instinct to do what’s needed to WIN? Does the lack of winning anything make them more appealing to you as they want it more? OR do you think that winners are wired differently. Of course we are talking about a team sport here but the two men are the captain and manager. Would love to hear your opinions of high performing (winning teams) and their leaders. Do you need to have winners in your leadership roles to win? Loads of competitive people in my network so love to hear your thoughts in the comments regarding winners in sport and business. #sports #esports #football #leadership

#SME esports sponsorship: why don’t we see more of it? Sponsoring #esports teams is not just for huge brands with enormous marketing budgets (even if that’s mostly what you read about here on LinkedIn). Here’s a checklist of what a brand would need to benefit from partnering with an esports team: 1️⃣ At least national availability for your product or service. If you are more regional, it’s unlikely you would benefit as much. If you are regional, you should focus more on in person events to bring together local esports fans to activate your product or service. With this in mind it needs to be worth it for them to leave the house! 2️⃣ An e-commerce site where consumers can purchase your products or service is usefull. Esports fans are digital natives and most will prefer to shop online. 3️⃣ Budget is helpful, there is potential for contra deals. Especially if you have a product players or a team needs to help in their day to day lives or professionally. How much budget do you need? You can start with figures in the hundreds or thousands and a lot of orgs will be happy to allow brands to pay monthly. 4️⃣ A willingness to learn from and trust the teams you partner with. They know their audience better than anyone, let them lead with content ideas. 5️⃣ KPI’s - Figure out what you want to achieve. If that’s cold hard sales, that’s ok. BUT … you need to build awareness and affinity first. Gamers and esports fans will call out and ignore blatant sales posts and activations. That’s why 50% of them use ad blockers. 6️⃣ A product or service that esports fans need or use. Guess what …. That’s pretty much every consumer brand globally. THEY ARE JUST PEOPLE: they go on holiday, eat, drink, take days out, hire cars, need insurance, buy houses and clothes etc. They just watch esports. That’s the only difference vs someone who for example watches traditional sports. 7️⃣ Someome who is well connected with teir 2 esports teams and below, someone who understands the full marketing cycle to guide you and spend time with you (without trying to extort a retainer from you). What did I miss ?
