The countdown has begun, the Japan roadshow is just 2 weeks away! 🇯🇵 Last week, we conducted a preparation session for our upcoming journey, where we had the opportunity to meet the participants and learn more about the teams involved. We then heard from Maya Sfar Cohen a session about Japanese business culture. The session allowed us to gain valuable insights into navigating Japan’s unique market.  We dived into Japanese culture and ethics, insights on relationship building, communication practices, and key cultural nuances that will enhance our interactions. Maya is a former manager of the innovation and acceleration program at JETRO and VP of Sales & Business Development at K.I.N., brings over seven years of experience in international business development focused on the Japanese market. Diving into Climate Solutions at Cambridge! This month our team visited the University of Cambridge to meet with some of the brightest minds behind leading Climate Tech companies. The University of Cambridge has established itself as a global leader in advanced chemistry and materials science. The phenomenal developments are critical as new materials and processes drive the rapidly evolving field of climate tech. During this visit, Nadav Steinmetz, Eric Kohlmann, Dor Bershadsky and Puja Balachander engaged with companies, entrepreneurs, and key players within the ecosystem, all of whom are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in climate innovation. This visit marks an important step in our ongoing commitment to staying at the forefront of climate technology innovation. ⚡

Today, the 2024 Finalists of the The Earthshot Prize have been announced. ✨ These innovators are paving the way for solutions to the world’s critical climate challenges. £1 million award will be received by these five finalists this November to promote their solutions. Last week, we had the honor of hosting the Climate First Forum at the British Parliament. 🇬🇧 The event brought together Europe’s top climate leaders from across Europe, private and institutional investors, and policy makers.  The forum focused on enhancing collaboration between the public and governmental sectors, particularly with the UK government. Guy Cherni, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Climate First led a conversation with Niranjan Sirdeshpande, Global Head of Investments for Catalyst at M&G Investments, about the latest trends in climate tech, innovation cycles, and the impact of policy and regulation. Important topics included: - Strategies for effective public-private partnerships. - Insights into climate policy implementation. - Opportunities for cross-sector collaborations. Today we are announcing that Helios has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BlueScopeX Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of BlueScope Steel. This milestone aims to demonstrate the use of our Helios Green Iron (HGI™) in parts of BlueScope's steelmaking operations, starting with our initial pilot project in 2026. Our advanced technology produces iron with less energy and no direct CO2 emissions, aligning perfectly with BlueScope's commitment to sustainability. We look forward to a successful collaboration and the potential for a long-term relationship with BlueScope and other leading players. This engagement represents a significant milestone for our development and continuance efforts and provides a glimpse into the future of the global steel industry, and the role of new emerging innovations like the Helios Cycle™. We are happy to share that David Shayo will be part of our team as Venture Capital Analyst Intern in our Tel Aviv office. David is a graduate of the Business & Entrepreneurship degree at Reichman University and carries a relevant background in the venture capital industry. He has been greatly involved in different topics related to Climate Tech through his experiences at Energy Innovation Capital, theDOCK and Resycure. David will be a great addition to Climate First given his previous experience, especially in the current lifecycle as we announce new partnerships with large corporations. Welcome, David!
