Our Group CEO Chris O'Shea has welcomed the Government's £22bn funding commitment to kickstart a new carbon capture usage and storage (CCUS) industry across the north of England. The UK has some of the greatest geological storage potential of any country in the world, and with the right investment could create thousands of well paid jobs in this critical part of the energy transition. Spirit Energy has plans to transform the Morecambe Bay gas fields into the largest single carbon storage facility in the UK and Centrica Energy Storage plans to convert Rough into the world’s largest hydrogen storage site. First place for Fertility! 🏆🏆🏆 We are thrilled that our Fertility Network has been recognised as the 'Outstanding Wellness Network of the Year' at the recent Diversity Network Awards! The honour reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting our employees through their fertility journeys, and recognises the importance of our Pathway to Parenthood initiative. We joined British Gas Energy Trust at a recent roundtable in Newcastle. Representatives from Citizens Advice joined organisations from across the north east to discuss interventions that could support those experiencing fuel poverty. A common theme was the importance of providing face-to-face support. Many of the frontline organisations shared instances of successful intervention after taking services into well-known community hubs, as individuals felt more comfortable to ask for help in a familiar space. The Trust is now 20 years old, and since 2004 has contributed over £200 million in donations, helping more than 2.2 million people across the UK. Find out more here👉 https://lnkd.in/dxAzFnM

We've had a busy few days at Labour Conference, with strong interest in our vision for the hydrogen economy. Hydrogen is one of the low carbon solutions that will be critical for the UK’s transition to net zero, particularly in helping to tackle emissions from hard-to-decarbonise sectors.
