Very many congratulations to our colleague Dr Carol Marsh OBE on being named Celestia Technologies' new Engineering Director. A very well deserved promotion in recognition of everything she does to support our business, our teams and the industry at large.

Congratulations to our colleague Dr Carol Marsh OBE who has made history by becoming the first female Deacon of The Hammermen of Edinburgh since its Incorporation in 1483. Dr Marsh received the chain of office at the Kirking of the Deacon which took place at Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh recently. The Hammermen of Edinburgh is a trades association established in medieval times for metal workers. It awards annual scholarships and prizes as part of its charitable and educational work. Supporting engineers and engineering skills is something close to Dr Carol Marsh OBE’s heart and it is a point of great pride to have this recognised and to lead The Hammermen of Edinburgh, helping promote engineering as a career for everyone. #womenleaders #womeninengineering #engineering #careers #breakingbarriers

We were pleased to welcome year 4 and 5 students from the The University of Edinburgh when they paid us a visit recently to learn more about phased array antennas. The visit was one of a series of visits arranged by the university’s Senior Lecturer in RF Technology Symon K. Podilchak for students in the RF and antenna stream to see for themselves the work that is being done in their field of study. We were able to show them the highlights of our current work and provide an insight into career opportunities with specialist businesses like ours. Many thanks to Symon K. Podilchak for making it possible and to Ed Totten, José Luis Flores, Jasmine Wright, Karen Craigmyle, Kevin Mitchell, Walce Horvath - CMI Awarded and Kimberley Butters for making it a success. #uni #UniofEdinburgh #industryvisit #RF #antenna #phasedarray #technology #developments #careers

Our project defining test for Eutelsat OneWeb’s Joeysat took another momentous step forwards over the weekend with the arrival of our Rx panels at Dundee Satellite Station Ltd. This precious cargo made its way from Edinburgh to Dundee by road with the team following and watching every move. Once onsite and unloaded, the panels were carefully lifted into place by crane – a moment everyone held their breath with many months of work literally hanging over their heads. Even ominous clouds and a series of downpours couldn’t dampen the team’s spirits and everyone pulled together to install the panels successfully ready for testing. Another great step forwards that keeps us right on track for the eScan / Sunrise project. And a true heroic effort from everyone involved – Diego de la Hoz del Hoyo, PhD, Stephen Smith, Karen Craigmyle and Rorie Booth - and the entire Celestia Technologies team. #eScan #gateway #Rx #antenna #electronicallysteered #satcoms #LEO #MEO #innovation
