Today is the day! 🎉 We are very excited to be attending the Ground Engineering Magazine Awards 2024 this evening. Our final shortlisted category is UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of between £500k and £1m for our project ‘Victoria Heights, Exeter’ What appeared to be “A Simple Greenfield Site” at the surface, ended up being anything but beneath the ground! During this project, CGL re-strategised and re-designed earthworks, highways and foundation design for the site. We overcame many geotechnical challenges on this project, and utilised a combination of desk-based studies, GIS systems, engineering assessment and detailed analysis to justify the acceptability of the proposed measures. This was a collaborative and sustainable ground engineering solution that used a versatile and dynamic team to bring a high level of skill and expertise from the across UK and internationally to this ‘local’ rural Devon project. We are also shortlisted for Ground Engineering Magazine Awards 2024, Ground Investigation Project of the Year for 'Trinity Lane, Ripon' with TerraDat UK Ltd. & SatSense The aim of CGL’s involvement in this project was to assist with providing an understanding of the ground model, to minimise the risks from ground conditions, and to de-risk the development prior to construction starting. Instead of the traditional borehole approach, CGL used our proven track record and extensive experience of Ripon geology and successfully navigating associated planning conditions, to apply our innovative multi-lines approach to site ground investigation, ensuring a cost efficient and sustainable service for our client. #geology #groundinvestigation #geawards2024

⭐ Our next shortlisted category for the Ground Engineering Magazine Awards 2024 is Equipment Innovation, for our entry 'CGL-PASS Service: Passive Acoustic Seismic Surveys for Geohazard Assessment' ⭐ CGL have combined the use of PASS with traditional GI techniques and established geophysical methods. We have proven cost and program savings through early adoption of the PASS to aid with reduced scope, targeted ground investigation. With added accessibility, quick mobilisations and environmental credentials we have collaborated with key clients to bring them the benefits of geophysics within their ground investigations. #geawards2024 #innovation #groundinvestigation

With the ceremony just one week away, we are thrilled to be a finalist for not just one, but five Ground Engineering Magazine Awards this year! 🏆 Our first nomination is the Award for Digital Innovation for our entry ‘Semi-quantitative Risk Assessment for Remote Linear Infrastructure’. CGL strives for continued technical development and industry-leading risk identification within the engineering geology discipline, and we aim to identify new avenues of integration and additional data to the benefit of our clients.
