While cake is not part of the C-DICE programme (yet), postdoc innovation definitely is! Vision To Venture allowed researchers to access personalised mentorship from industry experts to help craft their own business pitch. Watch this space for news about the winning pitch!

I was recently asked this to name two things I am crazy about. My answer: innovation, and cake! 🍰 Last week, I spent time with some amazing people who shared my passion for #Innovation. Alongside John O'Brien and Sharon Henson, I was a panel member for the C-DICE (Centre for Postdoctoral Development in Infrastructure, Cities and Energy) Vision to Venture pitch event! This incredible #EntrepreneurshipProgramme brought together 18 higher education institutions from across the UK. It was inspiring to see the participants' passion for innovative research and how, throughout the programme, they developed their thinking on how their research could be turned into practical solutions for sustainability and achieving #NetZero. Well done to Anna Brady and the Code-Switch Consultants team for delivering a successful programme, and congratulations to everyone who participated!

It is an honour to work with researchers who are tackling the biggest challenges of our time to accelerate our progress to a more sustainable future. This time last year, we played our immersive game workshop Exploring Sustainable Futures with bioscientists from Food BioSystems DTP , where we explored the future of the food sector. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eeUWt88S Next week, we will be exploring the future of the energy sector at University of Birmingham with C-DICE - the UK’s largest postdoctoral development programme, aiming to build and sustain the advanced skills base required to create a pipeline of world-class talent for the Infrastructure, Cities and Energy (IC&E) sectors, and accelerate progress towards a net-zero society. You can register for this in-person experience and C-DICE will fully subsidise the cost for affiliated researchers: https://lnkd.in/eHyv99_U ____________________________________ 🌍🌎🌏🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍🌎🌏🌎🌍🌏 We need new competencies to lead organisations to a more sustainable future, in collaboration with others in society. Exploring Sustainable Futures is an immersive game experience designed to accelerate learning through an experiential, transformational journey to the future. Designed by Cranfield Sustainable Business Group and Beeworx, the game has been recognised by the Financial Times as being an example of best practice in teaching about sustainability and was showcased at the COP26 climate conference.
