The Eden Project in Dundee is planning to make one of its main buildings entirely from leftover construction materials. Blair Parkin, chief experience development officer, says, “When we talk about construction waste, it’s often not piles of rubbish. “It’s window frames you didn’t use, it’s paving slabs you didn’t use. It was a pleasure to welcome Michael Shanks MP for Rutherglen to the BE-ST Innovation Campus last week. He was particularly interested to learn about innovative carbon-neutral buildings including the Social Bite Nest House. The Nest House is a demonstrator for the new Social Bite Village proposed for South Lanarkshire and the Recovery Village in Dundee to support people struggling with homelessness and addiction.
