Television nurtures education, triggers the imagination and creates communities. It’s a social glue that brings us together. ❤️ That’s why for over 70 years we’ve supported broadcasters and production companies in capturing the world’s most unforgettable moments – and we’re proud of the role we play. 🤟 We started with Queen Elizabeth II coronation with approximately 27 million viewers in Britain – that number grew to more than five billion people for the funeral. 👑 600 million watched in wonder as Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon in 1969. 🚀 And when 40% of the world’s population tuned in to watch Live Aid, the culture-defining concert featuring artists like Queen and Led Zeppelin, it helped raise over $127 million. 🎶 Helping to create moments like these is why we love working in this industry. We’ve been there and we will continue to be, providing the underlying broadcast capabilities for television in the UK and across the world. 🌍 #BroadcastMedia #BroadcastSolutions #LiveTV

This year, we're part of not one, but two IBC Accelerator Projects! 🚀   As well as championing the 2024 Special Incubator Project, ‘Content and Produce Anywhere – Phase 2’, we’re also co-championing with Comcast on 'Scalable Ultra-Low Latency Streaming for Premium Sports'.   We recognise that currently, internet streaming distribution involves much higher latency than traditional TV – creating a poor experience for sports fans. Which is why this accelerator will explore the possibilities of open and interoperable low-latency solutions that can deliver live video and audio in under two seconds, from glass to glass. ⚽📺 Want to find out more? Is linear TV truly dying❓ It's no secret that over the past two decades, the demand for traditional TV has drastically declined. The days where 16.7 million viewers would tune in live to witness the return of 'Dirty Den' on Eastenders are few are far between 📺 That's why at our Business Summit event in March, we brought together a panel of experts to explore what this shift to streaming is and what it is not. Because even though viewers are switching to new platforms, it doesn't mean that they don't want a linear experience. In this blog, Duncan Sims, Product Manager at BT Media and Broadcast, summarises the discussion and reveals how in spite of the decline of traditional TV, audiences are actually watching more video content than ever through digital platforms 🤳 Keep reading to find out more on the streaming opportunities ahead 👇 #broadcasting #linearTV #FAST Sander ten Dam SIMON BUTLER Tom Griffiths

BT M&B's annual 'summer' softball match is BACK🏏☔ Despite an extremely rainy day in London yesterday, we got the team together for a fun-filled afternoon with refreshments, pizzas and softball! 🍕 A few slips, slides and not so waterproof jackets, but all-in-all we rallied together and had a brilliant time 🙌 And of course, a massive congratulations to the winning team 🏆
