According to the World Health Organization, By the end of this decade one in six people are expected to be over 60 and by 2050 there will be 426 million people who are 80 or older. By 2040, an estimated 28% of China's population will be over 60 years old. Because of its low birth rate, it is becoming one of the world’s fastest ageing populations.
