Today we celebrated Health & Wellbeing Day at Thingwall Hall, Merseyside! 🌟 Everyone had an amazing time and we wanted to thank everyone who joined us for a day full of fun, relaxation, and community spirit. Our event featured lots of activities, including relaxation therapies, NHS health checks, financial advice and so much more! Attendees enjoyed the stalls, and live music, and everyone's participation made the day truly special 💕 We can't wait for our next event at Lisieux Hall next week!

Our Lancashire-based Creative Arts group got stuck into Learning Disabilities Week with Mencap theme of “Do you see me?” The artists worked on creating self portraits, which are all going to be put up for display around our day services! 🖼 #LearningDisabilitiesWeek

Another person we’re putting in the spotlight during Learning Disabilities Week is Eleanor! Eleanor attends our horticultural service at Summer Hill Garden Centre in Merseyside, where she learns all about plants and vegetables. She loves it there and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty. Eleanor does amazing work volunteering at our advocacy group, Voice For All. She also attends our women's group and is a proud LGBTQ ally. Eleanor helped set up our women’s group to bring the ladies of our services closer together. One thing Eleanor loves is Taylor Swift — she’s a HUGE Swiftie and was delighted when Taylor came to Liverpool recently.

This week is Learning Disabilities Week, centred around the 'Do You See Me?' campaign, which emphasises being seen, heard, and valued. We're celebrating some of the incredible individuals we support who overcome barriers and achieve amazing things! Meet Michael 👋 Michael, who has a learning disability, has been a vital part of our team at Roccoco, one of our food-based enterprises in Lancashire, for over a year. He’s not only a friendly face to our customers but also has achieved his Level 1 & 2 food hygiene awards! Michael hopes that his growing skills and certifications will lead to a flourishing career in catering. In his spare time, Michael loves spending time with his family, driving around in his own car, walking, and watching films.

During #VolunteersWeek, we took a moment to celebrate the incredible dedication and hard work of our volunteers at Brothers of Charity Services with a special afternoon tea at Roccoco Cafe, one of our fantastic food-based enterprises. Joined by our CEO, Lisa Gregory, along with some of the people we support and staff, it was a truly heartwarming event for our deserving volunteers.

Absolute pleasure to hearing from Learning & Development apprentices, Danielle Boyd from Brothers of Charity Services England and Ellie Duckworth from Electricity North West. Both ladies presented their executive summaries relating to 'Management Information Systems and the role of data in the learning environment'. To say they both superseded expectations is an understatement. Their content was engaging, backed with solid rationale and impactful. Their futures in the L&D world looks very promising.
