This week, BACB plc’s Nabil Frik attended the 15th annual GTR Asia event, held in Singapore. Over two days of debate and discussion, speakers from across the trade finance space discussed the key issues facing the sector, including Asia’s growing role as an engine for global trade and the challenges of building a climate-conscious trade ecosystem. Last week in Tunis BACB plc were delighted to welcome representatives from across the Libyan Treasury sector for a weeklong training event led by expert trainer Maitham Yousif-ACI Diploma alongside BACB representatives Mohammed Omran Aboukaraa and Abdulrahman Hassadi. The sessions focused on preparing the candidates for the ACI Dealing Course, ensuring key understanding of the operations of financial markets and treasury products. Training events such as these demonstrate BACB’s long-term commitment to our markets, not only ensuring that clients have access to the latest information and tools, but also promoting the highest standards of industry practice. Yesterday, delegates from BACB plc attended the ITFA’s Annual Summer Event at One Bishops Square in London. This year, the gathering was hosted by the ITFA Northern European Regional Committee at the offices of A&O Shearman. Last week, BACB plc welcomed representatives from across the Libyan trade finance sector for a weeklong training event in Tunis. Today, BACB plc delegates visited the House of Lords to attend the Libyan British Business Council's Summer Reception, hosted by Lord Trefgarne, President of the LBBC. At the event, Libyan Foreign Bank Chairman and BACB's Vice Chairman, Mohammed Ali Addarrat, had the opportunity to deliver a keynote speech, discussing the current innovations taking place in the Libyan banking sector, enabling it to better facilitate inbound and outbound trade flows. Similarly, Peter Millett, Chairman of the LBBC, highlighted the importance of trade to African markets. We would like to thank the LBBC for hosting the event and very much look forward to attending next year!

It was a pleasure to attend Global Trade Review (GTR)’s UK conference.
