I want to shout out an opinion which to me makes absolute sense - but Advertising on screens in chicken shops to reach the black community is a strategic decision to reach a captive audience in a familiar setting. A report by the Pew Research Center, African Americans are known to spend a significant portion of their dining-out budget on fast food, including establishments like chicken shops (Also true in the UK). This targeted advertising is akin to placing ads in popular magazines or TV shows that cater to specific demographics, utilizing the knowledge of where a community frequently gathers to maximize engagement and effectiveness. By focusing on locations with high foot traffic from the intended audience, we can ensure that our message is seen, thereby enhancing our marketing efficiency without perpetuating harmful stereotypes.
