Congratulations to our partners at Bracknell Leisure Centre, in particular Sharon, whose community programmes have won the leisure centre an award! 👏 The activity and wellbeing award was presented in recognition of the positive impact the Good Boost and community cafe programmes have had on locals. Since launching in July 2023, the sessions have helped more than 430 people improve their physical and mental wellbeing. ♥️

We had a blast at last week's schools' climate change conferences. 🌎 Thank you to involve Community Services, @SEEd and Plastic Free Crowthorne for facilitating the day and inspiring our young people to take action against climate change. Our secondary school conference saw students create a statement of actions to take back to their school. Whilst our primary school students enjoyed learning about energy use, food sustainability and biodiversity with indoor and outdoor activities. A huge well done to all the passionate students who took part, we can't wait to see you put your ideas into action. 👏

We're buzzing! We've recently been recognised as Bees' Needs Champions 2024! 🏆🐝 Our rangers and were one of 45 award recipients. Their prize was a certificate and the honour of being recognised for the exceptional work they've done to help bees and other pollinators. Examples of local action taken, include: Expanding our areas of wildflower meadows. Building a new 'bee bank' with volunteers at Buckler's Forest. Converting old telecom boxes to pollinator hotels. New bee garden and hives on the roof of Princess Square car park. Running a “Bee Aware” week at The Lexicon. #BeesNeedsWeek #DEFRA #Pollinators #TheLexicon

Thank you to all the businesses, schools, community groups and colleagues that attended our climate change summit on Monday. 👏 Over 150 representatives from across the borough came together to start developing a community climate change strategy and gain insight to help take action in their own organisations. This work will be continued by the joint climate action board with our support, so we can track the progress we can make together. Find out more about our climate change action and how you can get involved. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eUG_fJmK

A big thanks to all our staff and volunteers for their hard work tonight at the Bracknell constituency count. And thanks to our poll clerks and presiding officers for their work today at the polling stations. An extra big thanks to our election team for all their hard work over the recent weeks. You have all been amazing!

Today, we held our election for the Bracknell constituency in the UK Parliamentary election. Most people don’t see the vast amount of work that goes into staging an election. We’d like to thank our elections team for all their hard work over the past few months. Whether this is answering residents’ queries, setting up the polling stations, appointing poll clerks, or providing support for the team on the ground today, they have been fantastic. There will be no rest, as the verification is currently ongoing and the count begins straight after, but we’d like to thank them for everything they are doing.
