His legacy continues in our 175th anniversary year and today we’re proud to donate 175,000 toothbrushes and toothpastes to our charity partner The Hygiene Bank to support children going back to school! Over 4.2 million people in the UK are living in hygiene poverty and this is having a detrimental impact on children’s oral health: - A third of parents experiencing hygiene poverty say they are using a reduced quality of dental care products for their children due to financial constraints - One in four say their children’s oral hygiene has worsened - One in five say their children have missed school due to oral hygiene issues Poor oral hygiene can lead to more serious dental health problems, with tooth decay being one of the leading reasons for hospital admissions in children today. To provide access to toothbrushes and toothpaste to as many children this September, we teamed up with Josie Gibson to encourage the public to donate too via donation points in our stores. For every kilogram donated, we’ll donate an additional full-sized product to The Hygiene Bank.
