Light Up The Lake 2024 ✨ Join us on Saturday, 21st September 2024 at Manvers Lake, Rotherham for our fourth annual Light up the Lake event. This September, we'll illuminate Manvers Lake with hundreds of environmentally friendly lantern dedications, creating a breathtaking spectacle as they float peacefully on the water. We invite you to dedicate a light in memory of a loved one as part of our Light up the Lake appeal. Gather with us at the water’s edge to pay tribute to those special people who are never far from your thoughts. Each lantern, made of waterproof card, will be securely fixed to rafts and float gently about 3-5 feet above the water. Paddles Ready, Teams Set, Row! 🐉🚣♀️ The day is here! It’s the return of the Bluebell Wood Dragon Boat Race. We're at Manverslake in Rotherham, come down and support each team and cheer them on as they conquer the waters in today’s race. There is also a range of fun activities throughout the day including a lively funfair, engaging army displays, and a tempting selection of craft and dessert stalls. Plus, our onsite bar and BBQ stand will serve up some great food and drinks. We recently announced details about our new-look service provision and all the fantastic work we are doing at Bluebell Wood, as well as our plans for the future.   We sat down with Ian to talk about his son, Chester, who is 14 years old and has Cerebral palsy and Hirschsprung disease. Ian spoke about the support the whole family have received from Bluebell Wood over the last eight years. He also tells us how well the family were looked after by the new care team at their recent short break and the positivity in the hospice which is “in a really good place." Your fearless jumps and big hearts have raised £14,000 so far, and with nearly a month to go until donations must be in, this figure is set to keep on rising. A peaceful afternoon in our Dragonfly Garden. Listening to the rustle of the trees in the wind and the gentle chirping of the birds. For us and all our families, our memorial garden is a special place. Both today which marks #NationalBereavedParentsDay and every other day of the year.
