"The world's my oyster. I can do anything." 😄   Meet Sian Lord, mother of two, wife and body confidence advocate. She's partnered with ASICS, New Balance, Dr. Martens plc and many more. Sadly, Sian Lord had an unfortunate accident over a decade ago while in New York City. That said, Sian has embraced life as a below-the-knee amputee, thanks to the Elan IC. You can now watch and discover how our microprocessor hydraulic ankle's brilliant functionality gives Sian the confidence to do anything she puts her mind to. #Blatchford #ElanIC #Microprocessor #Prosthetics #Orthotics

We couldn’t be happier to announce that Jack Eyers has been selected for the Paris Paralympics 2024! Jack’s known for wearing our KX06 knee and Linx but now competes in the British Para Canoe for Great Britain. History has been kind to the GB Team, with them picking up gold, silver, and bronze in Rio and Tokyo. We’re backing Jack and the team to do the same in Paris to make it three in a row. Once again, congratulations. The whole of Blatchford is behind you and the team, Jack. #Blatchford #BlatchfordAmbassador #KX06 #Linx #Prosthetics #Orthotics

Football didn’t come home last night, BUT… Alfie Hewett did leave Wimbledon with two winners' medals. Competing in the men’s wheelchair singles and doubles, he beat competition from Spain and Japan, respectively. Congratulations, Alfie; Blatchford couldn’t be happier for you. No doubt, you’ll inspire many adaptive athletes throughout the nation.

A Brit won Wimbledon this weekend. 🎾 This is Alfie Hewett, the men’s wheelchair singles and doubles champion. He made history this weekend by winning all four Grand Slams. He’s not on the front page of any national newspapers. Disappointing, but what a hero! We lost the football this weekend. But Alfie (and his doubles partner) brought it home. Today I’m using my platform to spotlight his story, I hope others do the same! 👏🏼🎾

🌟 "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." 🌟 We are incredibly proud of Chris Arthey, our Blatchford Ambassador, for completing his triathlon! Chris demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination despite challenging conditions and a head cold. 🕒 Time: 2h15m20s 🏅 Event: Blenheim Triathlon 📸 Photo Credit: Marathonphotos Chris shared, "It was my slowest of five Blenheims; I managed 1h45m36s in 2020. But, despite the cold/windy conditions, it was a lot of fun." His account of the race highlights his brother Roger's support, the technical challenges of competing with a prosthesis, and the camaraderie among athletes. Chris, your dedication and spirit are an inspiration to us all. Congratulations on your fantastic achievement! #Blatchford #Triatholon #AdaptiveAthlete #Running #Cycling #Swimming #Orion3 #LimbLoss #LimbDifference

Blatchford Stands with Those Affected by MND Today   At Blatchford, we think of everyone affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This debilitating condition impacts up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any time, with a 1 in 300 lifetime risk. MND affects movement and can cause various symptoms, which vary significantly between individuals.   Gilly King, Clinical Lead for Blatchford Wheelchairs and Seating Service, says: "I'm proud of how quickly we can support people with MND; our wheelchairs make their lives more manageable. The clinical team go above and beyond every single time, from assessment to handover; we offer a patient-centred process."   A patient shared their experience: "Anna's symptoms started after her third booster jab. Initially, we thought it was temporary, but it got worse. She was eventually diagnosed with MND. We cried for about an hour. First thing that came to mind was the girls. We're a very positive family, but that was one of the worst days of our lives."   Rob Burrow, MND advocate, reminds us: "Don't waste a moment. In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream."   Learn more about our wheelchair and seating service: https://lnkd.in/dHSFJ3kH For more information on MND, visit the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.
