Sonata for Broken Fingers with BCMG on Sunday 14 July in Birmingham. https://lnkd.in/ekuRCu2x ❗️Joe Cutler’s first opera with Librettist Max Hoehn, inspired by the remarkable life of pianist Maria Yudina living under Stalin’s brutal regime. A dark absurdist thriller, conceived as an intimate and claustrophobic experience told over an hour. A world premiere commissioned by Opera21 and co-produced in partnership with BCMG and Birmingham Record Company (Birmingham Conservatoire).

🤔🇯🇵 Hear composer Hollie Harding talk about her BCMG commissioned piece NOH TRIPTYCH, being premiered in Birmingham by BCMG on Sunday 23 June at the CBSO Centre. Hollie and Ben Nobuto have written two brand new pieces inspired by ancient Noh Theatre, receiving their world premiere alongside music by Japanese Composers Misato Mochizuki & Toshio Hosokawa on Sunday 23 June at the CBSO Centre, Birmingham. Come and hear new music inspired by ancient traditions, echoes of old stories told in new ways. 👺👹

☀️🎵🌱Gorgeous sunny day at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens Trust for our “Light, Air, Space” programme with the BCMG wind trio this afternoon. Thanks to everyone who came to join and get to know our musicians this afternoon amongst the garden.

Wonderful day out at the Cultural and Creative Industries Garden Party, hosted at Buckingham Palace, The Royal Household Lovely day out for team Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and great to reconnect with lots of old friends and colleagues (with a spot of royal/celeb spotting!). Thanks to Arts Council England for inviting the team and Department for Culture, Media and Sport for hosting. It was great for allowing us to take stock, celebrate and meet so many brilliant people across our industry.
