𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲! 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹'𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗚𝗼𝘃 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲! Big Blue Door is thrilled to announce the successful launch of the London Borough of Southwark's new digital platform, developed using the LocalGov Drupal (LGD) framework! 🎉 This collaborative project represents a complete overhaul of Southwark's digital presence, replacing their previous platform with a modern, user-friendly, accessible, and cost-effective solution. The new platform not only meets the latest WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards, but it also significantly enhances user experience and offers streamlined content management. Here are some key highlights of the project: 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 & 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵: We conducted extensive user research, including stakeholder workshops, persona development, competitor benchmarking, and IA testing. Feedback from residents shaped every aspect of the project. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 & 𝗨𝗫: Our team delivered a responsive, accessible design that works across all devices and open-sourced the design system. 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱: Powered by LocalGov Drupal - key features include: • Integration of key services like Single Sign-On (SSO) via Microsoft Azure • Scalable, secure infrastructure hosted on AWS • “Where I Live” functionality for postcode-based service discovery (coming soon!) 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Our team of five content designers led a comprehensive rewrite of all content, following GOV.UK and GDS standards. The site now features simplified, accessible content that’s easy to manage and maintain, thanks to an automated governance and peer review process. 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀: 𝟭. 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿-𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 & 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲: Meeting the latest accessibility standards the platform is modern, easy to navigate, and fully responsive. 𝟮. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱, 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁: The new website boasts clear navigation, robust search functionality via Cludo, and intuitive layouts. 𝟯. 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 & 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵: The platform reflects Southwark's modern brand identity, with a clean and visually appealing design. 𝟰. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 & 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲: By using open-source LocalGov Drupal, we helped Southwark save money and build a platform that can grow with them over the next few years and beyond. 𝟱.
