    On Thursday 26th September BIE’s People & Culture Team was delighted to host a CPO Networking Dinner at Charlotte Street Hotel. We were joined by a group of leading CPOs from a diverse range of businesses who came together to discuss current challenges, opportunities and areas of focus for them, their Executive teams and functions. Some key themes emerged:     💡 The critical role CPOs play now more than ever in driving top team capability; ensuring leaders are equipped to tackle ever-shifting commercial challenges and are agile, resilient and responsive when the landscape changes. Also, in enabling and facilitating essential leadership changes, when new talent is required to shift the dial. 💡 Managing the complexities of intergenerational workforces, operating as the conduit between established leaders and generations beneath; where experiences, expectations and definitions of success are poles apart. 💡 The continued evolution of a CPO’s remit; broadening to include ESG, Legal, Property. Does this present an opportunity for HR leaders to broaden their influence and pave a progression pathway to GM or CEO positions?     City Giving Day was a great day for the team to come together and support our partner charities! From a morning walk through London to cake competitions and taskmaster-inspired activities, the BIE team took part in city giving day this year to raise money for Drive Forward Foundation and the Aldridge Foundation. Already, we have raised over £1.3k to support the charity's mission to improve the career prospects of young people from underprivileged backgrounds.     Yesterday the BIE team had the pleasure of taking part in this year's City Giving Day! The day started off with the team walking from Buckingham Palace to the BIE office, where we then took part in a baking competition, followed by a mini BIE sports day in the afternoon. We were honoured to be joined by Alderwoman & Sheriff Dame Susan Langley and Alderman & Sheriff Bronek Masojada who came and judged our baking! Well done to Matthew Whipp's team for winning! City Giving Day is an important day as it allows not only our team but other companies across London the opportunity to come together and raise money for their chosen charities. This year, we are fundraising for our charity partners Drive Forward Foundation and The Aldridge Foundation who provide meaningful and empowering support to help young people build future careers.     We recently hosted our first Skills Workshop in partnership with The Aldridge Foundation and Drive Forward Foundation where we were joined by a range of senior leaders in our network and a group of young people from both our partners. It was a lovely, energised evening filled with networking and sharing of skills and career guidance. It was brilliant to see so many young people incredibly engaged in conversation and our clients offering useful insights into the workplace. It was an absolute pleasure to be joined by so many young people and we look forward to future events with both organisations.
