It was great to be in London yesterday to launch our new report: Money management apps: help or hindrance for low-income households? Our roundtable event brought together experts from the fintech industry, organisations that work on poverty and debt related issues, and representatives from the regulator and government. Head of Policy, Steffan Evans, presented the findings from the report, and there was lots of lively discussion around key issues and people’s experiences of these apps. Thank you to the Which? Fund for both their support in funding the research and their generosity in hosting the event at their London office. Find out more 👉 https://lnkd.in/ePSCdcfG

Changes to the energy price cap are effective from today, and prices are rising by 10%. Wales already has some of the highest bills in the UK, and the lack of support for low-income households will mean that many struggle to keep their homes warm this winter. It doesn't have to be this way. Actions can be taken now to address the energy affordability crisis. Read more here 👉https://ow.ly/KJqI50TzUbo

Upcoming Bevan Foundation events! 📆 The way we all manage money has changed significantly over recent years. In some ways, new technology has made it easier than ever before but it has also brought about new risks, in particular for people who are on a low income. For the last year the Bevan Foundation have been looking at one type of new technology in particular - money management apps. These apps offer a range of services that promise to make it easier for people to manage their money, build up their savings and to pay down debt. But until now, very little work has been undertaken into understanding the potential harms they could cause nor into their potential benefits. If you're interested in learning more about these apps, exploring what impact they could be having in your community or having your say then join us for one of two upcoming events. *October 3rd* join us for our launch roundtable in London to share your thoughts and to have your say - https://ow.ly/v0As50TvVtH *October 15th* join our launch webinar to learn more about our work - https://ow.ly/lPSk50TvVtJ
