Bermuda-based Lion Reinsurance Company has had its financial strength rating of A (Excellent) affirmed by ratings agency AM Best. The outlook is stable. The cyber insurance market could face a preliminary bill of up to $1.5 billion from the CrowdOut event, cyber risk analytics firm CyberCube said today. "The faulty CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor update and subsequent outage - the CrowdOut Event - would represent a loss ratio impact of roughly 3-10% on global cyber premiums of $15bn today," the company said. The Bank of Butterfield saw its net income drop by 17% from $60 million to $50.6 million in the second quarter as net interest income fell and remuneration expenses rose.
