UK start-ups are invited to express their interest for the Biotechnology Business Incubation Centre (Bio BIC), supporting early-stage biotechnology companies achieve their commercial potential in the Liverpool City Region. This programme is run by STFC and BBSRC at Sci-Tech Daresbury. We’re investing £4.6 million to address the key challenges encountered by sustainable UK aquaculture. 10 British aquaculture projects, funded through the Sustainable Aquaculture Partnerships for Innovation fund, bring academia and industry together to collaborate on projects exploring: 🟢 Disease prevention 🟢 Animal welfare 🟢 Ways of supporting food security Dr Lee Beniston, Associate Director of Industry Partnerships and Collaborative R&D at BBSRC spoke on what this investment means for protecting our future aquacultural food sources. “Advances in aquaculture technology and innovative approaches have enormous potential to provide the UK, and the world, with a more sustainable, diverse, and healthy source of nutrition.
