On Sunday 18 August, we'll be holding another Summer Fair right here at the hospice. This fair is even more special than last year's though as we'll be celebrating 30 years of Barnsley Hospice. 🎂 Between 11 am and 1 pm, The Orangery will be filled with stalls, tombolas, activities for kids and refreshments for you to enjoy. If you can't make it on the day but would still like to support us, any prize donations for our bottle tombola would be greatly appreciated. Earlier this week, we were invited to The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire Hall to receive a very generous donation of £1,800 from the Cutlers' Combined Charitable Trust (CCCT). This donation will allow our staff to undertake 'Train the Trainer' moving and handling training, enabling us to maintain a safe environment for our staff and patients. 👕 Got some unwanted clothes, books, DVDs, toys or homeware? Bring them to our Retail Hub in Dodworth and help raise much-needed funds to support the hospice. We can also collect large furniture items from your home. However, we kindly ask that you get in touch with the hub team first so they can confirm whether it's something we can accept at that time. You can find the Retail Hub on Fall Bank Industrial Estate, Dodworth, S75 3LS. Open Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm for shopping and donation drop-offs. 🌳 Twiggs Ground Maintenance recently visited us to kindly cut back and shape the overgrown hedges at the back of the hospice. Thank you to the Twiggs team for your hard work and for giving your time and skills to help make a difference. This is a great example of how local businesses can support Barnsley Hospice in ways other than monetary donations. 🧡
