Casting is now confirmed for the re-imagined series of 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜 (6×60’) with 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐲 (The Split, Brassic, Crashing) set to step into the leading role of Jim Bergerac. The six-part UKTV Original series is produced by 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐓𝐕, part of Banijay UK, Jersey based Westward Studios and supported by Visit Jersey. Filming will begin this month, with locations in the UK and the Channel Island of Jersey. 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝: “𝘐’𝘮 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘑𝘪𝘮 𝘉𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘤. 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺.” The series is written by Toby Whithouse (The Red King, Being Human), alongside Brian Fillis (Trust, Sirens), Catherine Tregenna (The One That Got Away, Three Pines) and Polly Buckle (Love Rat, A Discovery of Witches). Banijay Rights will handle international distribution for the series. Bergerac is based on the original series created by Robert Banks Stewart, which starred John Nettles and ran for nine series on the BBC between 1981 and 1991. The modern re-imagining will honour the iconic detective drama, but with a contemporary twist. Unlike the original hit from the 80s, the new series will see one character-led murder mystery run across all six episodes, in place of a new storyline each episode. HBO and the BBC are set to co-produce the six-episode drama series “Lions” (w/t), from creator and executive producer Richard Gadd (“Baby Reindeer,” “Sex Education”), with Alexandra Brodski (“Somewhere Boy,” “Rivals”) and Eshref Reybrouck (“Ferry: The Series” and “Cheyenne & Lola”) attached to direct. The HBO-BBC series is produced by Wendy Griffin (“Limbo,” “The Lost King”) and executive produced by Tally Garner and Morven Reid for Mam Tor Productions (a Banijay UK company), Richard Gadd, and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC, with Gavin Smith for BBC Scotland. 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞: When Niall's estranged 'brother' Ruben shows up at his wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives. Spanning almost forty years from the 1980s to the present day, this ambitious series will cover the highs and lows of the brothers' relationship, from them meeting as teenagers to their falling out as adults – with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry, and challenging moments along the way. It will capture the wild energy of a changing city - a changing world, even - and try to get to the bottom of the difficult question... What does it mean to be a man? Tally Garner, MD Mam Tor Productions, says: “𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘏𝘉𝘖 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘉𝘊 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘎𝘢𝘥𝘥'𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯. The BBC has announced that newcomers 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐧é𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐫, 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐫-𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐞 and 𝐀𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐫 will lead the cast of 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐎𝐤𝐨𝐡’𝐬 new drama 𝐖𝐞 𝐆𝐨 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 (working title), based on Janice’s 2011 play Three Birds, which starred Michaela Coel and won the prestigious Bruntwood Playwriting Prize. The Midlands-set series is produced by The Forge Entertainment (The Buccaneers, Help and Ackley Bridge), a Banijay UK Company, and is currently filming in and around Birmingham and Coventry for transmission on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three. 𝐖𝐞 𝐆𝐨 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 is a comedy drama about three stubbornly optimistic siblings – Tiana (Taylor), Tanika (Walker-Wilkie) and Tionne (Subair) – with a dark secret. When their mum disappears, they will do anything to keep it quiet so they can stay together as a family, but – as feistily resilient and fiercely loyal as they are – can they really outwit the authorities and carry on with life under the radar? Writer and Creator Janice Okoh says, “𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘉𝘊 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦.
