We absolutely loved having some students from Oldham Sixth Form College here for work experience last week. Isha, Julhaz and Sarah were such a delight. From recipe calculations, operations, production, to speaking with YouTube royalty - we took them through the lot. We wish them all the best in the future and are welcome back any time! Enjoyed attending the Food Manufacture's Excellence Awards last week. No awards in the two categories we were nominated in (Business Leader of the Year and Food Integrity Award), but delighted to have got through the judging process and be nominated alongside some pretty big names. Considering that the likes of Arla Foods and The Collective UK | B Corp™ were winners, we were certainly punching above our weight. Thanks to Bethan Grylls and the team for putting on a great night.

Just over a week to go until Food Manufacture Excellence Awards! Delighted to be nominated in such competitive categories: B3 CEO, Marc Burbidge, is in the running for Business Leader of the Year, alongside the B3 nomination for the Food Integrity Award. Great excuse to dust off the tuxes.

💥 With a busy start to the year including onboarding new clients, planning for new lines and equipment and doing what we *actually get paid for* - making the highest quality CBD oils for the biggest brands in the UK market - we've missed the window to write our generic Happy New Year post talking about how excited we are for the upcoming year. 🎉 Well, we're super excited for the upcoming year - working with new clients, getting new lines in and making lots of high quality CBD products. 🌍 One thing on our radar for 2024 is our Journey to Net Zero. With the ambitious targets set for the UK to have net zero emissions by 2050, there is a lot of work to be done. We'll be engaging our suppliers, clients and partners to make sure our supply chain is aligned with these goals. 🎉 A great end to the year - the first BRCGS audit at the new site and all the hard work has paid off with a provisional AA rating! Continuing our position as the most highly certified CBD finished-product manufacturer in the UK and Europe, this is testament to our dedication to safety, quality and transparency. With three months' manufacturing data needed when you move to a new site before being able to be audited, the team have worked tirelessly to maintain the standards from our previous site. All this during our busiest period of the year. A big thank you to our partners and team. A special shoutout to Catherine Ng, Hannah Millington, Maria Wood - the best technical team around 😍

Last month, we were invited to NutraIngredients Active Nutrition Summit in Amsterdam, as winners of their Start-up Stars competition. We were delighted with this award considering the calibre of the competition. More importantly, we met some great people and learned so much about this ever-changing landscape. The key takeaway from this event is the fact that this area is moving away from the traditional, vein-popping 'Men's Health' vibe and into the mainstream (although there is still room for this). However, mainstream doesn't necessarily mean being all things to all people, and that a deep dive into your offering and your audience is key. With the lines being blurred between performance and convenience (where does, for example, Grenade's Oreo protein bar sit?), it's critical to understand where you're playing. B3 CEO ,Marc Burbidge, has been shortlisted for 'Business Leader of the Year Award', going through an extensive judging process including a written submission followed by a presentation to a panel of independent judges from the industry. The second category we've been shortlisted for is in the 'Food Integrity Award' - we're particularly pleased with this one, as since the beginning we've worked tirelessly on the fundamentals of running a food business. Considering the calibre of the competition and the other nominees, we're so pleased to be recognised for our hard work.
