With it recently being national mental health week, it's so sad to hear the news of Grayson Murray. A professional golfer, 61st in the PGA World Ranking who withdrew from a globally televised tournament on Saturday and then tragically took his life. No matter what you do or how good at it you are, the pressure of work can creep up on people. We must support people on their journey and celebrate the achievements of others. (Even if you don't know them). I will always be here for anyone that wants or needs a conversation. A small tribute, but my heart goes out to him and his family. Rest in Peace Grayson Murray 🤍 #NoMindLeftBehind

At Axel Talent we're always talking to candidates about pursuing your potential and it doesn't just stop in the office. It's amazing what anyone can achieve with the right mindset, add this with positive support from peers and mentors, it's literally a recipe for success. My wife and I are always doing what we can to support our children and set them up for success. My youngest quit cheerleading last year and has since taken up dance and singing lessons. More recently she wanted to try her hand at modelling. We weren't too sure on modelling as she had done so well in her cheerleading, but one thing I will never do is force my children to do something they don't want to do. It's not healthy. Just like I wouldn't force a candidate into a role just to get a quick buck. If my children come to me for help, I will help them. If a candidate or client asks me to help, I will do what I can to help them, but I won't force my own internal agenda on any of them. Feeling blessed to see our children move forward on their own terms and I'm adamant to bleed this even more into the business. Willow has only been with Grace and Galor Model Management for a short amount of time, but has already secured a shoot with River Island & The Middle Daughter. I don't care what anyone says... for me running a business whilst consuming alcohol.... is destructive. The weekend gone by has been the best weekend of the year, possibly last year too and I put it down to another weekend off the booze. I've never classed myself as a heavy drinker, however, with the recent stresses of life, I'll admit I've drank more than my fair share. I decided a couple of weeks back to pack it in. Approaching this weekend, I had a little anxiety as it was by far the busiest we've had in a long time, with so many social opportunities to drink I was worried! But I held strong and saw all the benefits. Honestly, I've never been so present with my family and friends, even my daughter said this to me. My son, having recently moved schools, is the happiest he's ever been and we spent some amazing quality time with each other. Constant preaching on sobriety isn't going to be my thing as a lot of people are able to drink and it does not to affect them, but I'm not that person. If you're like me, and struggle with living in your head, drink when you're stressed but trying to better yourself, at work, as a person... in life... then f**k the booze off, you will not regret it! I'm pleased to have my son back and I bet he's pleased to have the best verison of me! Axel Talent #sobriety

Sharing a personal journey is never easy, but I believe it can be important to shed light on challenges our children face and help anyone else going through similar situations. Today, I want to put the spotlight on my eldest son, Frankie. He's a brilliant young man, quietly resilient and fiercely determined. School hasn't been for him, a sentiment I can relate to. The rigid structure and intense learning environment doesn't work for his learning style, especially with him having ADHD & Dyslexia. (He can't wait for school to be over and to start working here with me at Axel Talent 🥰) Yet, he's persevered, until bullying became a big weight on his shoulders. Verbal assaults escalating into physical attacks has forced him to make some tough decisions. Last year, my daughter faced a similar dilemma, bravely opting for change. Now, it's my son's turn. Leaving behind familiar faces, he's taking on a new chapter, driven by self-respect. It's a decision that I'm so bloody proud of. As a parent, it's so hard to see our children go through this stuff. The urge to intervene is more than powerful, but sometimes, the greatest support we can offer is encouragement from the sidelines. My son's resilience fills me with immense pride. He hasn't stooped as low and retaliated; instead, he's been mature and chosen the path of growth. Having gone through this twice, it's reminded me how important communication and empowerment is. Both times, my children made their decisions, and we stood by them. If you're unfortunately going through the same challenges: Listen to your children, respect their choices, and give them the stage to air their voice. We listened and he's started his new school this morning. A fresh start and a decision that will shape his future for the best and in more ways than one!
