It’s that time of year again!    The annual Sark Sheep Racing event took place last weekend in the Channel Islands and saw ‘Ed Sheeran’ (the sheep sponsored by AGH) take his mark on the line for his annual outing in Sark, Channel Islands. 🐑   As well as sponsoring Ed each year, we also sponsor a race named ‘The Lamborghini Steaks’!   We are very proud to have been supporting the race and its charitable endeavours for the past 12 years as the leading insurer for the island (with a presence of over 30 years) and thanks to the ongoing support of our intermediary partner Q&A People Matter.   This year, the Sark Sheep Racing competition celebrated the 200th Anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. All proceeds go to the Professor Charles Saint Sark Medical Trust, which subsidises prescription medicines on the island #sarksheepracing #channelislands #sponsorship #charity

Over the last two days, we have been holding our All Employee Talking Points Live! These sessions are a chance for us to give updates from across our business and bring colleagues into the office to connect, something we really value. For those at our global hubs in Ireland, India, Hong Kong and the UAE, they can join virtually, so everyone is included. 🌍   This session focuses on our customers. We learn who they are, what they tell us, and how we use their feedback to help shape our business.    Here are some lovely words from one of our valued customers, which reminds us how important the work we do is: “The team have helped both me and my late partner. They have been so supportive and I appreciate all their kind advice and help. They are sympathetic and so pleasant to talk to. I can’t thank them enough.” 🤗✨

While the weather has been saying otherwise… Yesterday, the sun peaked out for us, and we had our AGH Summer Party! It’s so important to wind down together as a team and have fun doing it (as well as throwing in some healthy competition). ☀️💪   Here are some photos from the day, are your team doing anything to bond and reset? 👇

Our recently released 2024 Global Mind Health Report explores the ins and outs of mental health concerns among non-native employees. Another interesting finding is how non-natives themselves are responding to their mind health challenges. 👀   Mind health concerns are driving down engagement among non-natives, with 4 in 5 (81%) claiming to have at least one exit strategy from their current job.    Non-natives are looking to make changes to their work to protect their mind health, including;   > reducing their working hours and/or responsibilities (42%) > taking training courses to open up new job opportunities (45%) > change or leave their job (33%)   Aside from the significant toll on individuals, it hardly needs saying that a business which has mentally unwell employees is paying a huge price. With rising disengagement increasing the potential for staff to leave, the consequences could be severe indeed for businesses who don't support their non-native employees with their mind health.   Read our report to learn how businesses can best respond to this challenge to keep their operations running at full strength. 🤝   https://lnkd.in/eNQZ5aWu   #Expat #MindHealthReport #Business #Leadership

We’re very excited to see an article on our Mind Health Report featured in Raconteur | B Corp™'s 'The C-Suite Agenda' supplement in today’s edition of The Times!   Our Chief People Officer Samantha O’Donovan FCIPD outlines why the mind health of non-native employees, should be front of mind for international leadership; including the significant squeeze on non-native managers, and the role of mindful leadership in creating a culture of trust that allows people to thrive wherever they are in the world.   Find our article in today’s issue of The Times, or read the piece online here: https://lnkd.in/ebG3prWa   #MindHealth #Expats #Leadership #Management

It may not be #Euros2024, but last week our AXA - Global Healthcare team claimed the annual FJN six-a-side tournament at Horsham FC. After winning their group and progressing through the semi-final without conceding a goal, the final against Charles Taylor Assistance proved a far tougher test. However, the AXA-Global Healthcare team equalised with the last kick of the game and then won a highly dramatic penalty shootout 6-5. Well done to all the teams who took part, and especially to FJN Solutions for organising such a great day.   The tournament was held to benefit charity Wolfram Syndrome UK and we’re pleased to say we raised over £800 on the day! Football for a good cause. ⚽️❤ Photo: Simon Roe

Non-native employees are 22% more likely to attribute their mental health problems to their working environment than their native colleagues according to our 2024 Global Mind Health Report. 👩💼 One particularly vulnerable cohort are non-native managers: - 33% more likely than native managers to say their mind health issues are related to professional reasons - 12% more likely to experience a feeling of burnout - 23% more likely to taken sick leave in the last year. 🤕 As the squeezed middle in organisations, managers face the dual pressures of driving business success and supporting their teams. Our report considers the steps leaders can take to help non-native managers build resilience for themselves as well as their teams. 💪 Read more about the findings in the link below. https://lnkd.in/eNQZ5aWu #MindHealth #ExpatMindHealthReport #GlobalMobility #Leadership

Our 2024 Mind Health report 'A Global State of Mind' revealed that almost half of non-native employees have experienced burnout as a result of their job, but only half of these sought help from a healthcare professional. 🥼 Burnout is a serious medical condition characterised by feelings of chronic stress and exhaustion related to one's job. 📊 Our report suggests that burnout is leading to high levels of sick leave, with 27% of non-natives taking sick leave at least once in the last year due to how their work is impacting their mental health. 🤕 How should business leaders be responding to these findings? Colin Preece, Samantha O’Donovan FCIPD and Eugene Farrell offer their thoughts, which you can read in full by downloading our report at the link below 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eNQZ5aWu #MindHealth #ExpatMindHealthReport #Burnout #Leadership
