More and more, there's been a lift in conversations around Neurodiversity in the games industry. Our neurodivergent Hawks have a valuable impact on our projects and studio culture thanks to their life experiences and unique way of thinking. We have a commitment to understand, engage and embrace neurodiversity, and endeavour to continue being a place of work where all our people are seen, accepted and celebrated. We've added this pattern lovingly created by our Graphic Design Team as a downloadable wallpaper, along with our other Advocacy designs! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eM747cZG

We hope you have been enjoying the work we’ve been sharing from Moonbreaker. Today, we wanted to spotlight the stunning Key Art created in collaboration with the talented team at Unknown Worlds Entertainment. This is a great example of being given an existing piece of work to elevate, rather than creating a concept from scratch. The work we do at Atomhawk comes in all shapes and sizes. Every game and client’s needs offer new, interesting challenges that our team can solve in creative ways. Every day really is different, and that’s what makes working at Atomhawk so awesome! Video games are never created in isolation, and one of the most rewarding things about what we do is being a part of the process which helps to create something magical for our clients and their players. 15 Years of Atomhawk and we couldn't be prouder! 🎂🎊 It's hard to believe it's been this long, but we're so proud of our Atomhawk Design team which has gone from strength to strength, no matter the challenges. From our tiny co-founder team in the Gateshead International Business Centre to 70 artists, designers and producers across two UK locations. Our flock has gotten huge! We have serviced some of the biggest names in the entertainment business, being a long-term partner for NetherRealm's Mortal Kombat franchise, taking a detour to support films like Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and more recently contributing a huge amount of armour and weapon designs for 2024's breakout hit, Helldivers 2. Our team is awesome, no other way to describe it. Just looking at our website and social media, it can be hard to fathom the full scope that allows Atomhawk run as smoothly as it does. We have to take this moment to shout-out our skilled and dedicated production, management and studio engagement teams who really are the ones who make everything happen. They are our beating heart and our spine, giving the support needed to our project teams to be able to do their best every single day. This is what Darren Yeomans, our Studio Director, said when asked about the studio and it's future: "We’ve had an incredible 15 years. The games industry is fast paced quality driven business, It excites me to see how our talented artists, production and support team plan and react to the challenge of evolving styles and technical advances moving forward." Curious to find out more about what we have planned for the future and how your projects fit into that? We’ve been sharing some of the gorgeous work we supported on for Moonbreaker. Today let’s talk about props, a crucial part of the game development pipeline which sometimes gets overlooked! From simple assets, to guns, to complex structures, prop artists are responsible for creating objects that enrich worldbuilding and add depth to the player’s immersive experience. We had a chat with Environment Discipline Lead, Artur Zima, who shares some insight on our approach when creating props for our clients’ worlds: “Props can be an incredibly important aspect of game design as well as creating compelling and believable worlds. There’s a lot that can be conveyed even through a simple prop – its age, who made it and for what purpose, how it was used and by whom, among many others. It’s important to consider and pay close attention to such details during the design process to ensure that each prop tells a story and helps with world building. Additionally, when it comes to interactable objects, thinking about functionality is also crucial. It can be quite challenging, trying to find the right balance between something that looks plausible but also looks and feels exciting.” See more of our Moonbreaker work on our website 🌙👉 https://lnkd.in/gasdV8NH
