We are delighted to take part of a webinar hosted by bioMérieux. Our talk will discuss economic evaluation within the blood culture pathway, and how improving the pathway using technology and following guidelines can have a positive impact on patient care and outcomes, and reduce unnecessary resource use and cost within the healthcare system.

Orjola Shahaj, Managing Consultant at Aquarius, is presenting today at the 12th International Primary Care Respiratory Group World Conference in Athens. Calling all #hpv / #cervicalcancer colleagues! Susie Huntington, PhD will be presenting her work on using urine as a sample for cervical cancer screening at EUROGIN Conference in Stockholm in a couple weeks (Friday 2.30pm session), and the team has a poster about cervical screening in Belgium presented by our collaborator Professor John-Paul Bogers. Our MD, Elisabeth Adams will also be attending and she and Susie are very much looking forward to meeting all of our partners and collaborators to discuss how we can support evidence generation to tackle cervical cancer (and other cancers caused by HPV) globally. Our remit at Aquarius Population Health is to develop evidence to inform more rational decisions in healthcare. We are delighted to share work that our team (Frank Grimsey Jones & Yixuan Ma) did with iFAST Diagnostics this year, to explore the impact of implementing a new diagnostic for bloodstream infections into the NHS in England. Our hope is that this health economic evaluation clearly demonstrates to stakeholders the value of using new technology to improve patient care and outcomes, whilst making better use of resources - and saving the #nhs money in the process.
