About us
We are a leading provider of Rotor Sails to the shipping industry. The energy saving technology offers significant reductions in fuel consumption and lowers CO2, SOx and NOx emissions by up to 30% to deliver more efficient ships. Following extensive research and development, Anemoi has commercialised the product for widespread adoption by the global merchant fleet. With a background in the bulk carrier sector, Anemoi’s patented design addresses operational considerations, proving it can work for the majority for sectors. Rotor Sails play a key part in addressing industry environmental targets and creating a sustainable future of shipping.

Our most recent installation of four 5x35m Rotor Sails on Berge Bulk’s Berge Neblina - a 388,000 dwt Valemax Ore Carrier - was completed with Anemoi's bespoke folding deployment system, whereby the sails can be folded from the vertical. As standard, ANEMOI Rotor Sails are permanently fixed to the deck. However, we also offer a unique range of ‘Deployment Systems’ which allow the Rotor Sails to be repositioned in a matter of minutes to significantly reduce impact on vessel business and port operations. All of our Deployment Systems are suitable for newbuild and retrofit installations. For Berge Neblina, it was important that the Rotor Sails did not impact air draught and cargo handling operations when in port, therefore, our folding deployment system mitigates this. We wish the vessel many smooth journeys with it's newly fitted wind propulsion technology🚢 Watch the video below to see the folding Rotor Sails in action👇 #ShipsAndShipping #RotorSails #FlettnerRotors #Decarbonisation #WindPropulsion #SustainableShipping #EmissionReduction #Innovation #ZeroEmissions #VLOC #BergeBulk

Last month at Posidonia Events, our CEO Kim Diederichsen caught up with FocuSeaTV - Maritime Media Platform, explaining how Rotor Sails play a crucial role in the decarbonisation of shipping🚢 "Today, depending on the configuration, the ship type, and the number of Rotor Sails installed, we will see savings both in fuel and emissions between 10 and typically up to 20%. Huge benefits to the environment. Huge benefits also to vessel owners and charterers when cutting fuel costs." - Kim Diederichsen, CEO at ANEMOI Watch the video below to hear more▶️ 🔗 https://lnkd.in/es5cCKWK #ShipsAndShipping #RotorSails #FlettnerRotors #Decarbonisation #WindPropulsion #SustainableShipping #EmissionReduction #Innovation #ZeroEmissions #Posidonia2024 #POS24

🤔 When and how are Anemoi Rotor Sails installed? Our recent installation of four 5x35m Anemoi Rotor Sails on Berge Bulk’s Berge Neblina - a 388,000 dwt Valemax Ore Carrier - was completed at Yiu Lian Dockyards Limited (Shekou) in China. Rotor Sail project management, installation and commissioning requires meticulous pre-planning to ensure all aspects of the required scope are anticipated in advance. Due to the requirements of the vessel owner for the vessel to be back in service as soon as possible, it requires coherence between all stakeholders during the installation process to ensure the time out of service is kept to minimum. 🗨️ "The crew and onsite superintendents from Berge Bulk, Anemoi Engineers and Naval Architects, and Yiu Lian Dockyards worked as one team, with one goal to ensure an efficient high-quality installation in the shortest period within the owner’s requirements for completion. The project was extremely well executed in a productive friendly atmosphere, to a successful conclusion and on time making it a very enjoyable experience. We look forward to working on future projects with these stakeholders." - Liam C., Projects Director at ANEMOI Read more: https://lnkd.in/ezktHNmw #ShipsAndShipping #RotorSails #FlettnerRotors #Decarbonisation #WindPropulsion #SustainableShipping #EmissionReduction #Innovation #ZeroEmissions

📣 4 MORE ANEMOI ROTOR SAILS SPINNING AT SEA 📣 We're excited to share that Berge Bulk's Berge Neblina has successfully been installed with four 5x35m Anemoi Rotor Sails on a folding deployment system! 🚢 Berge Neblina - a 388,000 dwt Valemax Ore Carrier - is currently sailing smoothly on its first voyage with our wind technology to Brazil. More behind the scenes installation videos coming soon… In the meantime, watch the vessel leaving Yiu Lian Dockyards Limited (Shekou) in China, where the Rotor Sails were installed. 💨 By leveraging wind energy, Berge Neblina will see increased efficiency by reducing the load on the main engine while maintaining speed, therefore substantially reducing fuel consumption and resulting in less greenhouse gas emissions. ℹ️ According to the latest Green Technology Tracker from Clarksons Research, 20% of the world fleet will be capable of using new fuels by 2030. These new fuels go hand in hand with energy-saving technologies such as Rotor Sails, which help to reduce the ongoing costs of expensive new fuels. The Clarkson's research team chief also added that the retrofitting of energy-saving technologies will be “a crucial part” of shipping’s decarbonisation pathway, particularly as "over 30% of fleet capacity rating Carbon Intensity Indicator of D or E in 2023". 📧 Get in touch to find out how our Rotor Sails can help accelerate the transition to net zero emissions on your fleet: [email protected] Read more: https://lnkd.in/e9UA9Vcd #ShipsAndShipping #RotorSails #FlettnerRotors #Decarbonisation #WindPropulsion #SustainableShipping #EmissionReduction

Commercial operations are king for vessel owners, therefore, it's imperative that onboard technologies - like Rotor Sails - do not interrupt port operations, impact the speed cargo can be loaded/unloaded, or limit the amount of cargo that can be taken onboard🚢 ANEMOI Rotor Sails do not interfere with cranes or other infrastructure during port operations at berth. This is due to both the relatively small size of our Rotor Sails in comparison to standard vessels, and the deployment systems that enable them to either fold horizontally or move along or down the deck. Luke McEwen, Anemoi's Technical Director, spoke to Manifold Times further about the increase in bulk carrier owners adopting Rotor Sails as a leading wind propulsion technology, highlighting its ability to enhance vessel efficiency while prioritising both cargo operations and environmental concerns. Next up in our Glossary Series… introducing the Upper and Lower Bearing Systems The upper bearing system connects the rotor skin to the tower. It carries the axial load of the rotor skin and top disc, and most of the radial load. Whereas the lower bearing system contains wheels positioned around the circumference of the base of the tower structure - which also carries some of the radial load. Both the upper and lower bearings are designed to minimise friction and hence unnecessary power consumption and heat generation. These systems are a crucial element to the function of the Rotor Sail.
