Side Effects of Positive Thinking You must read this if you are a Leader, a Parent, a husband/wife, or a friend Positive thinking is a powerful force when it comes from the inside ie when it is about your situation and circumstances and you are the one thinking positive about them But it is detrimental when you impose it on others It's like an egg. When the force comes from inside, it is liberating. But when it comes from outside it becomes damaging. Positivity without empathy risks becoming "Toxic Positivity" Leaders who engage in toxic positivity may inadvertently stifle open dialogue, preventing team members from voicing their concerns and emotions. "Why did you do this?" is the most INEFFECTIVE question you can ask someone Usually, the question is driven from Frustration and not Curiosity, which makes things worse. We believe that there is a more effective way of doing what was done. So the end outcome we seek or should seek is for the person to see that However when we ask "Why?", it triggers defensive behaviour instead of a collaborative one. This wastes time in useless argument. Because the goal is not to prove them wrong The goal is for them to understand that there is a better way. So a better question is "What could you have done differently?" OR? "What would have been a better response?" #Communication #leadershipgrowth #teamdevelopment

A new approach to Imposter Syndrome... "I am not Good Enough" is not a problem The problem is when we think "I can never be good enough." How good you are at something is reflection of your practice and not your worth. Your worth is limitless because what's possible for you is limitless. Also, lack of Confidence is not a problem It's just information that you need more practice Lack of Self-esteem is the real problem There is a difference between Self Esteem & Confidence One comes from Being And other comes from Doing Confidence comes from stacking up the evidence. Which means it's not prerequisite but result of taking action. Self-esteem however is result of thoughts & images we create about ourselves in our head. It is important because our brain will always prove our self-image right. The good thing is you can change it by repeatedly changing your inner dialogue over a period of time. Our brain is programmable by design... You can not choose not to be programmed So you have to choose what you programme it with In other words, change your stories to the ones that are supportive 90% of our daily habits and behaviours are on autopilot So 90% of your life is created subconsciously This could not be left to chance. If you find yourself attracting the same problems over and over again. If you find yourself making progress on things only to give up, lose focus or self-sabotage If you think you have hit a glass ceiling in any area of your life, work, or business, chances are that it's caused by subconscious beliefs and patterns. Work with a coach to identify, challenge and then change those beliefs and patterns. This is the reason I am a coach yet I have a coach.
