I’ve spent most of today going through CV’s. Here are my thoughts: It would be really helpful to put where you live on your CV, it saves me looking you up on Linked in to find out where you live. Putting what your employer does really helps gives some context to your work history. But if you don’t I can google them and add it myself. Having a CV in word saves me copying and pasting it from PDF. So a word CV would be great. And saying what ERP product you work on…that would be really helpful too! Much more helpful than just saying “ERP”

Digital transformation is what IT projects are called now. Talent acquisition is what recruiters are called now. In person training is training NNN is Net New Name, which means a new customer

I was expecting the job market to pick up in September, as traditionally it is a very busy month, but overall there is a lack of new jobs coming through. With the exception of ERP sales people (4 jobs)!! I wonder if the cycle is: 1. Hire sales people 2. Sell some software 3. Hire Professional Services consultants Let’s hope so. This is my 4th recession as an IT recruiter 1990, 2001, 2008 and now 2024, and I found that it is always darkest before the dawn. I just would like the dawn to come a little faster!!
