We are delighted to welcome Faizan Anwar to the Amberside Advisors team. Faizan has recently finished his six-months internship with us, and now having also completed a Master's Degree in Infrastructure Investment & Finance at University College London, he decided to take on a full time Consultant position with Amberside Advisors. During his internship, Faizan worked alongside our Commercial Advisory team helping them further solidify our Energy Transition proposition, supporting the team with research into healthcare, new mobility and energy sectors. Going forward, building on those valuable experiences, Faizan will move to one of our core teams and will focus on mastering his financial modelling skills, applying them across variety of sectors including infrastructure, renewables and energy transition. At Amberside Advisors, part of Steer group, we are dedicated to helping young people develop transferable skills and guiding their career paths. During our work experience programmes we provide students with insights into the consulting world and equip them with skills for the future. This week, we invited Norman Chigumadzi, who recently graduated from a secondary school and was keen to join us for a few days in a professional working environment. "I really enjoyed my time at Steer offices, where I had the opportunity to meet and learn from Amberside Advisors team: Nazim, Leon, Jack, Rosie, Adel, Jaydon and especially Rohan. They showed me a lot of how the data analytics sector works and they were all amazing throughout the two days. I also sat in a client proposal meeting with the management team, which gave me huge insight into the company's approach. We are looking forward to participating in a regional workshop ‘Cooling India’s Cities’ taking place next week in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. Organised by Tabreed India, in collaboration with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), this forum aims to bring together the key stakeholders including government, utilities, private sector, developers, research institutes, communities, and media representatives, to discuss navigating the opportunities and challenges of adopting sustainable cooling solutions in Andhra Pradesh state, and specifically in the new capital city of Amaravati. As the greenfield capital of the State, Amaravati has the potential to become a model city for sustainable living, with District Cooling included in its master plan. Shivali Mathur and Shravya Garuda from Amberside Advisors, who are leading on the new Women in District Cooling | India Chapter initiative, will be joining the roundtable, which intends to build knowledge networks that facilitate transition towards energy efficient solutions in India. 'As the climate crisis affects every aspect of our daily lives, it's crucial that we all come together to explore the vast potential of low-carbon energy and district cooling.
