At our annual Investor Day we were fortunate to be joined by OrganOx CEO, Craig Marshall. His company is at the forefront of changing the way donor organs are preserved in the time between donation and transplantation 🏥 Craig shared his favorite story about OrganOx technology saving a patient's life. This technology extends the window of time which organs remain viable for transplantation and reconditions organs often otherwise discarded. The patient he talks about in the video had previously turned down their offer of transplant because they knew there was a shortage of organs and would rather it go to someone who needed it more. However, thanks to the normothermic perfusion technology developed by Craig's company, this patient got another chance in the form of a reconditioned organ. This was part of a study conducted in 2017 by the team. In a recent email to Craig, the patient had this to say: "I'm on the right side of the grass still."
