“Even with non-narrative work, you’re always saying something. That’s one of the reasons I love dance: it’s emotional expression as well as physical expression.” For the latest in our dunhill Profiles series, we sat down with ballet dancer William Bracewell at the Sir John Soane’s Musuem. A self-proclaimed “hectic, energetic little boy”, Swansea-born William Bracewell was initially sent to ballet classes by his mother aged nine to tire him out. Today, aged 32, he is a principal dancer at The Royal Ballet – the first Welshman to hold such a role at the prestigious company. Introducing the Aquarium Dawn Moth Collection Inspired by ultra-rare archival ‘moth’ artwork, the pieces in the Aquarium Dawn Moth Collection are a distinctly contemporary expression of hedonism and connoisseurship. Meticulously created by hand, the rich design depicts the Emperor moth, a symbol of rebirth, transformation and wisdom, against arcadian scenes from the English countryside – vivid blue cornflowers, bucolic grasses and a cloudless sky. On the reverse, a caterpillar climbs a blade of grass above an eye-catching red toadstool. Available as both as a larger Table Lighter and a pocket-sized Turbo Lighter, there will be just 22 editions of each iteration available globally, with 11 full-colour and 11 all-white designs for both sizes. “For me, not a single moment was meaningless. I truly believe that each experience has shaped me into who I am today.” For the latest in our dunhill Profiles series, and in celebration of the dunhill x Japan Football Association Samurai collection’s 25th year, we speak to football player, Wataru Endo. Born in Yokohama, Japan, Endo moved to the UK to take his position as defensive midfielder for Liverpool FC in 2023. In that year, he also took on a prestigious role as captain of his national team – for which dunhill is the official suit provider. Jon Batiste wears custom dunhill to this year’s Met Gala in New York City. Designed by Creative Director, Simon Holloway, the Grammy Award-winning American musician wore a custom midnight blue wool barathea single breasted evening jacket with a peak lapel, darted front evening trousers, a white cotton twill point collar concealed placket dress shirt, a white cotton twill large butterfly bow-tie and black smooth calf leather evening loafers. In honour of this year’s dress code ‘A Garden in Time’, a bespoke halterneck waistcoat was made in an 18th century floral Spitalfields silk jacquard, created by the English textile designer, Anna Maria Garthwaite. Designed in 1745, this intriguing piece of fashion history was delicately cut and tailored in dunhill’s London atelier. To complete the look, Jon wears jewellery and watch by Cartier.
