About us
akt supports LGBTQ people aged 16-25 in the UK who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment. Did you know that 24% of young homeless people in the UK are LGBTQ ? LGBTQ people are much more likely to be made homeless because of their gender or sexual identity, and 78% of all of the young people that come to akt cite familial abuse and rejection ad the cause of their homelessness. This is why akt is so vital. We support young people into safe homes and employment, education or training, in a welcoming and open environment that celebrates LGBTQ identities. Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at akt creating impactful relationships that spark societal change
🚨Can your organisation help us double donations? 🚨 akt is proud to support vulnerable LGBTQ youth, providing safe homes, support, and brighter futures for those at risk of homelessness. This year, we’ve partnered with The Big Give, the UK's biggest match-funding campaign, and we need your support to make it a success! 🚨 We need our incredible corporate partners and allies who share our commitment to equality, inclusion, and community impact to become pledges for The Big Give. By pledging funding as a partner for The Big Give, you can help us double our donations and extend our reach to even more young people in need. 🌈Why Partner with Us? ➡ Maximise Your Impact: Every single £ you donate to our campaign will be matched by your pledge, making a significant difference in the lives of LGBTQ youth. ➡ Showcase Your Values: Align your brand with a cause that champions diversity, inclusion, and social justice, not just at Pride but all year round. ➡ Engage Your Employees: Involve your team in a meaningful campaign that reflects their values and fosters a culture of giving. 🌈 Let’s create a brighter future for LGBTQ youth together. 🌈 🚨Can you join us? Send me a message to discuss how your organisation can help us raise more money than ever for LGBTQ young people. #TheBigGive #LGBTQYouth #CharityPartnerships #akt #MakeADifference #SocialImpact #DiversityAndInclusion #PrideInPartnerships

Thank you to everyone who came along to see us this Manchester Pride! We're so happy to have you Adam!
Director of Strategy & Communications at Centrepoint, helping to end youth homelessness by 2037. Incoming CEO at akt from October 2024
This weekend’s Manchester Pride march was the first one I’ve ever done twice, first with akt and then with Centrepoint. It was great to walk and celebrate with young people, colleagues and trustees. Pride is always a deeply moving and inspiring experience so, if you’ve never been, why not get involved in 2025? 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

On my way to Manchester Pride to march with current and soon-to-be colleagues and young people from Centrepoint and akt. This Pride feels extra special knowing that I’m shortly to have the huge honour of leading such a great and essential LGBTQ organisation. This skinny lad at his first Pride (1993?) would never have believed it! #Pride #ManchesterPride #MCRPride #akt #Centrepoint #LGBTQ 🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
